I love how you ask questions but never want to directly answer any. I will give you my opinion about this and this is only my view. I don't speak for all Christians because my beliefs aren't part of mainstream Christianity so don't take it as such. This will only be my opinion. I'm not looking for people to agree with me. I love how you ask questions but never want to directly answer any. I will give you my opinion about this and this is only my view. I don't speak for all Christians because my beliefs aren't part of mainstream Christianity so don't take it as such. This will only be my opinion. I'm not looking for people to agree with me. I will be back shortly to answer these questions.

If there is no creator, then we dont have an instrinsic value, if we dont have a creator with a purpose, then we simply have no intrinsic value. We are just an accident.

Of course I would thank God that my son is returned safely just like I did when he went to Iraq. Me thanking God has nothing to do with other parents losing their kids. With that said I feel compassion for any family that loses a loved one whether it's because of war or an innocent young man being killed because of senseless gang violence that plagues our country.

Why would I blame God? Just like Job in the bible was tested where everything was taken from him and the devil wanted him to curse God. Whether you believe in the Devil is irrelevant. The beauty of the bible is that it covers all of our conditions. The good, bad and the ugly. Even sex is covered in the bible and I'm not talking about the stories of rape and murder. If you read it with an open mind you might gain wisdom and discernment. We all have to die someday and if it's meant for my any of my son's to die fighting for their country or what they believe in. So be it. That isn't God's fault. That's man exercising his free will. Now I do believe in certain instances God's Angels do intervene in some circumstances, how and why I don't know. But I can tell you of experiences that I have had that are completely unexplained but I'm here today because of divine intervention and I am grateful. I don't know if God favors some kids over others but I will say that some people have more favor in the eyes of God for whatever reason. That's the thing we don't always know what God's will is and sometimes what we want and what the Universe is doing may conflict. We don't know the big picture. Why does the government not tell us the truth about UFO's. What is the secret that children at Fatima told the Catholic Church many years ago that every Pope takes to his deathbed? There alot of mysteries that we simply don't know the answer to. God has given man free will to choose his own destiny and through this free will God experiences all that is. God lives in each and every one of us. Instead of looking for some man up in space passing judgement on you. Look into the mirror and see the real you. Not the physical you but the real you the one that you keep running from. You will not find him in some scientific book as proof. You must go within the depths of your mind. Through meditation you will experience the real you and confront the ego the one that has filled your life with all these lies. Once you get the courage to fight the greatest battle and that battle is the battle you fight with yourself then and only then will you start seeing things differently. It takes courage to do this. Atheism is an excuse not to take that journey because you wait for "proof" and "evidence" that isn't forthcoming. That is why I have used the word coward repeatedly to get you guys to understand that you have to have courage to take the journey. I'm not talking about getting wrapped up in some mind control hell and brimstone church. God is bigger than all of that. God can't be contained in a church. God is everpresent and everloving. If you don't allow yourself to experience God's love you are truly missing out on one of the treasures of life. I have had many atheist friends and I always tell them to not take my word for it. Seek for yourself and you know what I can tell you that some that have done that are no longer atheist because they have come to grips with their own perception of God. Finally a real statement from an atheist. Follow me on this. Read Rostos Post #4162 then read my long winded answer to your questions. Erase the thoughts of religion from your mind. Religion is the killer of the spirit at times because of the dogma that man has injected into it. After you read those I would hope that you can see why I call atheism the big lie. Because a belief in nothing creates the feeling that you're feeling. Now I'm not saying that because theists believe in God it's all champagne and caviar either but I will say this. No life is meaningless on this planet. There is a reason why we're all here. Our job is to figure that out and go about fulfilling our mission whatever that is. By going within and getting in touch with your true self you will then be able to have fellowship with God and that empty feeling you feel will soon go away. Again it's not magic where you wont have tough days or test. Oh no everybody will go through that but when you go through it with God on your side believe me it makes life a lot easier to deal with. Do you have to be perfect? Like my Mom used to say (God bless her soul) when you get perfect you leave this planet. So don't get caught up in the perfection trap. It's about progress not perfection.

Humans have been around for such a short period of time and it took billions of years (perhaps more than we even know) for them to evolve. It just makes no sense to me as to why god would care at all. So that's that.
Regarding praying to god. Your answers demonstrate that praying to god is meaningless. You said you would pray to god to bring your son home, but if he didn't you wouldn't blame god because maybe it was your son's time. If that is the case, why pray at all if god is gonna do what he wants anyway?

Life is completely meaningless. We are not here for a reason. Knowing this actually makes my life better. I know this life is all we have, so I plan to enjoy it to the fullest, which is what I have done to this point.
I will never "find" god, partially because there isn't one to find, but mostly because I don't need to look for one. I don't need to think an all powerful being is going to help me through tough times. I am man enough to handle adversity by myself. If you ask a god for help and truly believe he will help you, that in turn will get you through hard times, simply because you feel you are not alone. That just isn't for me. I don't need a confidence booster like that, because as I said earlier, I can handle things on my own.

Life is completely meaningless. We are not here for a reason. Knowing this actually makes my life better. I know this life is all we have, so I plan to enjoy it to the fullest, which is what I have done to this point.
I will never "find" god, partially because there isn't one to find, but mostly because I don't need to look for one. I don't need to think an all powerful being is going to help me through tough times. I am man enough to handle adversity by myself. If you ask a god for help and truly believe he will help you, that in turn will get you through hard times, simply because you feel you are not alone. That just isn't for me. I don't need a confidence booster like that, because as I said earlier, I can handle things on my own.
I am coming from the same place as Kitty. I too tried to believe in a god. I want more than anything for a god to exist, so I look for any reason to believe, but just can't. It's all too silly.

Mikniks and Kitty Katz- I want to address both of you. It's not a matter of not being man enough to deal with things. We all have those urges that we can handle things or that we're tough enough. Both of you guys are still real young as am I. I am young in mind and body. I will tell you this and I'm not bragging but I am probably one of toughest guys you will ever meet. Not just physically I'm talking mentally tough. First of all you have to be mentally tough in America if you're a man of color. But put that aside for a minute. No matter how tough you are there will come a time or two when you will face a crisis in your life that will bring you to your knees and you will need spiritual strength to fight it. The bible says in Epheisans 6:12 what our battle is "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
So no matter how tough we think we are we all need spiritual strength to defeat the forces that attempt to keep us down. Also to pray isn't begging. Prayer is a conversation or an agreement that you are reaching with God. I pray in the affirmative because thats what Jesus taught us. Pray as if it already is. Again you can sit back and say why pray to something or someone that I don't believe exist. I say try it and see what happens. What do you have to lose. No matter what you guys say or do the bottom line is you don't have all the answers. Hell you don't even have 1% of the answers. Here's the kicker neither do we just like the bible says and because we don't have hardly any answers that is the reason why we need spiritual guidance. Your true nature is your spiritual self and to deny your true nature is to starve yourself spiritually. Your spirit needs food just like your body and to stay in ignorance because you can't prove who you really are is like not eating because you don't know who cooked the food.

One other thing I want to say to you guys and then I have to go to bed. The Holidays are over and I have a business to run so I can't be up till 3 in the morning during the week. This notion that God is a Christian is simply false. God is ALL THAT IS. That means God is beyond any religion. Man has created religions to control other man. It doesn't mean that religions are necessarily bad but you can't confuse religion with God. There is no connection. So you have to stop putting all Christians into the same category and stop mixing God with religion. God isn't a religion. God is love and forgiveness. His laws are governed by Universal Law which is a non respecter of persons. Jesus is the conduit to God. He came to show us the way home. It's ok if you don't believe or accept that but at least you have been exposed to the knowledge of your true self. Good night.
