To be honest I don't know what a lot of other cities have as their mayors.I gotta believe some decent sized cities have some republican mayors, and if there is some cities with republican mayors. My question was and is"What do republican mayors or city leaders do about their homeless situations".If there are no republican mayors of cities with homeless problems, what did these republican leaders do to get it that way? What programs or solutions are they using?Or were there just no homeless problems ever?
These things are very easy to look up and find out if you are that interested. This has been addressed on here before. The cities sometimes are a microcosm of the states. Obvioulosy, you are going to have only a select amount of cities that have a Republican mayor like Dallas or Oklahoma City, etc. But you can easily see the difference in the red and blue states. Even if you account for CA's population the numbers present a very big contrast. For example:
That said, data from the Department of Housing and Urban Development show that homelessness is, in fact, more prevalent in states that voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. What’s more, states that voted for Trump — and, therefore, are often led by Republicans — have seen larger drops in their homeless populations.
With those caveats in mind, the difference between red and blue states is nonetheless clear.
As a percentage of the overall population in the states, the drop-off in red states since 2012 is even more stark. Since 2007, blue states have seen essentially no change in their homeless populations. In red states, the population has fallen by about a third.
Isolate that population, and the extent to which the unsheltered population is largely a blue-state problem becomes apparent.
This is in part because the state with the largest homeless population is California, where it’s much easier to be unsheltered than it is in, say, New York City. New York City is the area (referred to as a “continuum of care” by HUD) with the largest homeless population, but Los Angeles, San Jose and San Diego had the largest shares of the unsheltered population
Much of the reason that the blue-state homeless population hasn’t fallen since 2007 is growth in New York state itself. By contrast, the population in Florida, the state with the third-largest population, has fallen since 2012.
Etc., etc.

Nonsense. The majority had already settled in other countries but because of the allure of the USA and ease to enter illegally—they have decided to up and leave the other countries.

In the three years President Biden has been in office, illegal immigration from Venezuela has increased by an astounding 7,300 percent. Admittedly, the economic and political situation in Venezuela is bad, but it’s not 7,300 percent worse than it was in 2020.
The evidence suggests that the surge of Venezuelan illegal immigration has almost nothing to do with conditions in Venezuela. About 84 percent of the 7.7 million Venezuelans who left Venezuela since 2014 first settled in neighboring Latin American nations. Many would uproot their lives again once the allure of higher American wages was paired with policies that made illegal immigration easy. The fact that many of these migrants, who had already settled safely elsewhere in South America, are making the dangerous trek north indicates that the vast majority of Venezuelan migrants are economic migrants rather than bona fide asylum seekers.

Ya I remember I am the one who decided to call you out for your use of one word.Cause that one word makes all the difference when you say those two states "are FORCING residents to sponsor said immigrants in their homes",and that's not the case. That means when you use the word "FORCING" instead of the examples you used of "wanting them to do it",or having to "sign up and participate".That one word makes your statement complete BULL SHIT,cause that's not whats going on,it's a lie nobody if forcing anybody to do anything. Can you understand that or no?Let me give you a couple examples that might spell it out for you a little better. Is there a difference if the government or somebody
1."wants you" to give them all your money.
2.Or wants you to "sign up and participate" in you giving them all your money.
3.Or is "FORCING" you to give them all your money.
Is there a difference in those three examples just by changing that one word,or do all three of those examples still mean the same thing?Or how about this example, maybe this will hit closer to home for you "grab them by the p*ssy" fans.
1.You meet a girl and you are talking to her (ya like that would ever happen to you) and you tell her you would "want her to" have sex with you.
2.Or you meet her and your smooth pick up line is,would you like to "sign up and participate" in having sex with me.
3.Or you just "force" her to have sex with you.
Are all three of those scenarios the same to you also,or does that one word "forcing" change the meaning to everything?
You are the one who is wrong and "forced" to eat crow, and all the other republican bull shit they have you shovel down. But evidently you must enjoy shoveling down bull shit, you do it yourself and keep coming back for more from them.Enjoy!
Then you comeback with the all to familiar republican cliches of "reminds you of a teenage girl" and "you are living in my head rent free".Ya you are "living in my head rent free" so much that it took me 3 days to respond to your post.Ya I'm so out of control, and it bothered me so much, that I didn't care enough to respond for 3 days.Ya crazy me "just keying in on a certain word" you printed out to be the so called truth, but it's complete bull shit.
You are right, all those emoji's are exactly you.A grown man who has no other recourse but to put a bunch of emoji's in his statement, cause he's got no other come back.Mmm,kinda like a "teenage girl", don't you think?
Do the letters SMD mean anything to you?

I never said hitting someone with a flagpole, fence post,or fire extinguisher was a way to overthrow the government.I said that was what some people were using to attack our country.I also never said they were looking to overthrow our government that day.But what they were looking to do that day was delay the certification of our new President (or has you traitors referred to it as,Stop the Steal). And what their plan was after that, who knows.I do believe his court cases will bring that to light. The 3 lawyers of his that have flipped on him aren't not getting charged cause they are gonna say he's innocent. They know exactly what the game plan was,and are gonna spill their guts to save their own ass's.Stinky knows this too,and that's why he's constantly shitting his pants, and crying that he needs "absolute immunity".
You are just like trump, you say one sentence about what the conversations about. And then go on some rant and type out two whole paragraphs about "Woodstock" and "The Chili Peppers" that have nothing to do with the conversation.
And I respect that "Dumb Fuckin George" was president. But that doesn't change the fact that "Dumb Fuckin George" invaded the wrong country, crashed the economy, and sat there for 7 minutes listening to children's stories while we were being attacked.I notice that you never replied to my question about if your family was being attacked, would it take you 7 minutes to do anything?Knowing the coward that you sound like,I think I know that answer. And I do have two wonderful kids and two amazing grandchildren. And I show nothing but complete love and respect to everyone of them,at all times.Just cause I treat a POS like you, like a POS.Does not mean that's how I treat my kids or grand kids, the two things are totally different. And if you don't understand that, that explains a lot of the problems I have with you.
Ya the "deep state of covers",did you realize what kind of clown you sound like when you write that? The old "classic example" of an angry poster hung up on 1 or 2 lies that somebody posts, and then pointing the lies out to the poster. And all the poster does is double down on his bull shit, and talk about woodstock, the Chilli Peppers,FDR marrying his 5th cousin, and his opinion that incest is worse then being a dumbass.

And then Texas sends them to other states and cities. So then Texas shouldn't have any problem if these cities empty their own prisons and send them all to Texas. What's the phrase, what's good for the goose,is good for the gander?
I don't know what all the military was doing, and neither do you.If the military had the chance to do anything about the plane that hit the pentagon,or the one that crashed in PA.Or if other planes were in the air and them not knowing how many,or what they were supposed to fly the plane into. They would need the president to give orders on what to do.Or are you saying some private or some military air traffic controller is gonna give out the orders? Could those 7 minutes have changed anything,we'll never know.Cause George DID sit there for 7 minutes listening to children's stories, and did nothing.
Are you trying to say trump shouldn't have stopped the protest gone bad,he was right in just sitting there for 3 hours as our countries capitol building was being attacked? If somebody was attacking the WH where he was,or attacking his family, would he sit there for three hours doing nothing?I don't give a fuck what Ray Epps said or did,or what he got.Probation is more then trump or any other republican leader has gotten so far,for what they did.Ya post a video or transcript of trump saying that, just let the video go all the way to the point he also says
"Because you'll never take our country with weakness, you have to show strength, and you have to be strong. We have come to demand that congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated (but trump wasn't wanting to use the electors that were lawfully slated,he wanted to use the fake electors that the republicans had put in place in the swing states he lost). And we fight. We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore".Ya,post that video or transcript.Do tell me how they were gonna "Stop the Steal" (Why would they name it Stop the Steal if they were just there to march patriotic and peacefully)by marching patriotically and peacefully and cheer on our Congressmen and Senators?

Yes. That is why I said it was easy to look up if you really are interested. Those two cities have put plans in place and the Federal government has also done many things in those cities as well.
For example:
“The City of Dallas has transformed our response to homelessness over the last several years, made possible by our coming together across public and private partnerships to make historic, targeted investments to end unsheltered homelessness,” said Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn Arnold. “One of our primary goals is ensuring that our unhoused residents have equitable access to housing resources and that we have standardized the intake processes across our system. We’re also conducting an equitable access analysis to ensure that our unhoused residents in every area of our system can continue to connect with the rehousing efforts and resources to end their homelessness.”
Data collected from the 2022 Point-in-Time Homeless (PIT) Count showed that, on any given night, at least 4,400 people experienced homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties, with 4,000 in Dallas County and at least 400 in Collin County. More data concluded that family homelessness decreased by over 20% since 2019, from 1,025 to 822, showing that local organizations found success in assisting families with finding alternative housing versus ending up in a shelter or encounter unsheltered homelessness.
“COVID-19 and extreme winter weather greatly impacted individuals, organizations and systems, including our homeless rehousing system,” said Joli Angel Robinson, Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance president. “Although these events have impacted all of us, the trends supported by this year’s PIT count data, are a direct result of our community’s tremendous commitment to serving our unhoused neighbors, increasing housing interventions, and building our system’s overall capacity to effectively serve those experiencing homelessness.”

In February, Mayor Eric Johnson announced the formation of the Mayor’s Task Force for HOPE — Homelessness Organizations, Policies and Encampments. The 10-member task force is expected to find, develop and then recommend “concrete solutions” to reduce homelessness along with pathways to “healthier and safer communities” in Dallas.
“I am proud of the work already done by our city and our partners to address homelessness and care for our most vulnerable residents,” Mayor Johnson said at the time. “But it is clear that people who are experiencing chronic homelessness continue to seek shelter on our streets, our sidewalks, and our underpasses that are filled with tents, sleeping bags, and waste.”
Johnson appointed three co-chairs to lead the HOPE Task Force, all of whom previously served in the city on projects involving housing, shelter services, Health care and treatment issues. Peter Brodsky, Chair of Housing Forward, Betty Culbreath, Chair of the Dallas Housing Authority and the former director of Dallas County Health and Human Services and Ellen Magnis, President and CEO of Family Gateway, make up the task force along with seven other individuals.
“We cannot afford to accept our progress to date as ‘good enough,’” Johnson added. “We still have more work to do, and together, with the help of the HOPE Task Force, we will ensure that Dallas is addressing homelessness in a way that is smart, compassionate, and considerate of the health, safety, and quality of life of all of our residents and businesses.”
The City of Dallas’ Office of Homeless Solutions incorporates a four-track strategy to tackle every aspect of homeless within the city. Track one targets the increase of shelter capacity by expanding the capacity of existing providers through contracted shelter overflow programs. Track two consists of inclement weather shelters turning entities with Chapter 45 Temporary Inclement Weather Shelter permits to provide shelter on days when the temperature drops below 36 degrees in the winter or above 100 degrees during the day with an evening temperature higher than 80 degrees in the summer. In 2021, volunteers served nearly 2,000 unsheltered people at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas during the deadly winter storm.

@MrWhatsItToYa
Through track three, the city provides funds for security deposits, rent, utilities, incentives and other support services to prevent tenants from losing their residence. And track four invests in facilities combatting homelessness, ranging from rapid rehousing to permanent support housing.
But if you are truly interested in the differences that Dallas is doing and has done you can easily find it out. It can be argued, as I said above, that because the cities are microcosms of their states to an extent -- these policies and things are easier, or better, implemented in those cities.
But the overwhelming large cities are run by Democrats and that is where the largest segment of the homeless are.
So, the question you should be asking is why those cities cannot fix their problem -- since the problem simply is not a Republican-city problem just because of the dearth of those cities.

It's stunning how many posters here try to find ANY way they can to justify all this.
It is worse than that actually. Go read any study that has been done on it and you will notice that no matter how 'independent' the authors are they have a bias and a pre-programmed intent with it. They want to point out the leniency given Nicaragua and Venezuela and Haiti and Cuba. They 'assume' all residents from there fit the asylum standard. They also assume that they are not 'supposed' to apply for asylum in the first country they enter. Instead of this, they are promoting sending officials down into those countries to handle applications there -- instead of making sure they apply where they are. All of the studies assume that 'both' parties should work together to speed up the process to allow them into the USA. There is no emphasis at all on 'forcing' them to abide by the established guidelines nor applying the true asylum standards.
The worst part is most of the studies will quote 'polls' of what the 'majority' of the people in the USA want, etc. The obvious assumption is that the 'average' citizen even understands the issues involved and comprehends all of the ramifications of a wholesale allowance of entry to everyone.
So easy to use this to understand that the Founders understood that the mob-rule of the majority is not always in the best interest of the country. This is almost a perfect example of the flaws in the Liberal Logic of 'majority rules' mentality.
It is so very easy to look at Europe to see what happens -- as usually is the case with Liberal social issues, they are a great leading indicator.

How is this a good comparison to the illegal immigration issue.
Not even close to a good analogy!

True I never answered your rhetorical question. Surely someone like you understands why i didn't answer. It’s a statement to make a point rather than get an answer. I don't need to go down that shit show road you call your mind. The Woodstock 99 is a comparison, just like you gave me two comparisons in your last response. But when you give out comparisons you like to sound smart and put down my comparison as nonsense. The riots and fires at Woodstock were from the crowd pissed off from being taken advantage of by the powers that be and revolted. Same storyline with Jan 6 except that involved law makers instead of concert promoters. Same can be said with the riots/looting/burning the city of Minneapolis down after george Floyd. The crowd was sick of the shit and revolted, but thats ok in your woke eyes.
You say you have all these problems with me, it just shows how disconnected to reality you are. What set you off, the mis spell of your state and the using of a word forcing and then all this “paragraph this”. You just cant reason with crazy people, lots of hate and anger issues. You come off as a radical teacher, may be a good guess

A pair of New York City police officers were allegedly attacked by several migrants near Times Square over the weekend, with the suspects later being released without bail following their arrest.

@cdog8043
I haven't read about that yet but I'm not surprised. How many IRS did Biden administration hire? Over 80,000 but Border patrol cant get anyone who wants to do that job anymore, at least not now. Senior officers are retiring early with no replacements.
I would usually take the family down to the city to see a couple Yankee games every year but there are no plans to make the short trip this year, not after the last 6 months of crap thats been going on there. Not just the migrants either, the metal ill homeless shoving people in front of subway trains, young children assaulted in grand central. All with no accountability. Lots of businesses moving out of state, it’s no longer feasible to do business here. The taxes that will be required to pay for all this influx has to absorbed by someone. The residents cant make up it all

Congress doesn't need to be involved in any way, shape or form on ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. ... though this is exactly the crap that Biden is pushing from Congress, today The Executive Branch has wide latitude to put a stop to this and protect the country. @UNIMAN And then Texas sends them to other states and cities. If somebody was attacking the WH where he was,or attacking his family, would he sit there for three hours doing nothing?I don't give a fuck what Ray Epps said or did,or what he got.Probation is more then trump or any other republican leader has gotten so far,for what they did.Ya post a video or transcript of trump saying that, just let the video go all the way to the point he also says "Because you'll never take our country with weakness, you have to show strength, and you have to be strong.
Texas has never agreed to support taking in prisoners.
But "sanctuary cities " have agreed to support illegal aliens, to the point these cities will protect them from ICE.... so , why wouldn't Gov. Abbott ship these people to those cities that support illegal aliens. Seems to make perfect sense, no ?
