GL scal Does tonight's game go a long way in determining the 7th and 8th playoff spot? |

Anyone surprised to see Kings favored even with Marvin Bagley not playing? Clippers are 3-0 vs Kings this season where Kings were underdogs all 3 times. Kings have lost 4 of 5 games (@Den,@GS,@OKC,@Min,Mil) all elite teams except Twolves.
If Clippers win they will be 6 games over .500 but if Kings win they will be at .500. I don't see anyone running away with the 8th spot so this looks like a game the Kings win and tightens the race for the 8th spot. Thoughts?

Lakers have allowed at least 115 points in 9 straight road games, which ties the FRANCHISE RECORD. But Memphis has only scored at least 115 points 4 times all season, and only once after Nov 30th, when they scored 116 points at Boston Jan 18th. As it has been said already in this thread Memphis is a different team now and after Nov 30th is when when they really began to lose games after starting the year hot. Maybe the Grizzlies is just what the doctor ordered for this Lakers defense. No Gasol and Jaren Jackson to punish the Lakers inside. Dec 23rd game Grizzlies win at Staples Gasol 7-16 fg, 17pts, 9 reb, 8 ast Jackson 11-21 fg,27 pts, 9 reb

From a local article
“Coach talked about getting ready for K-State. He said, ‘Can’t get this one back. Worry about the next one.’ I think we’ll bounce back pretty well,” KU junior forward Dedric Lawson said, adding, “Sometimes a loss can be a blessing in disguise.” If KU wins on Big Monday, the Jayhawks will trail K-State by one game in the standings with three to play. K.J. Lawson said the key Monday against the first-place Wildcats, who lead Texas Tech by one game and KU and Baylor by two, will be to “play hard every possession. Nobody’s got sympathy for you. Go out and compete. Play for the name on the front of the jersey.” He added that K-State, which has lost 12 straight games to KU at Allen Fieldhouse, will “definitely bring it,” after Saturday’s 85-46 annihilation of Oklahoma State at Bramlage Coliseum. “We’ve got to bring our A-game, bring the fight to K-State, not let them bring it to us.” “We’ll put this one behind us,” Self said. “It’s not going to do us too much good to watch this film. But we’ll get this behind us. We were talking — not putting it behind us because the game was over — but talking about that as early as halftime (with KU down to Tech by 25 points). We would have had to come out in the second half, in the first eight minutes, and cut it to 15 (point deficit), or something like that, to probably have a chance to put some game pressure on them and we didn’t do that. So, therefore, the whole deal was that for the last 12 or 14 minutes we were just trying to get our guys to the finish line so we have rested bodies for Monday.” Monday’s game, by the way, has some added significance. It’s the 900th men’s basketball game to be played in the 64-year-old fieldhouse. KU is 786-113 (.874) over 64 seasons and 248-13 (.950) in the 16-year Bill Self era at Allen. |

The Lakers and Grizzlies have played twice this season, each winning on the road. The Lakers were -5 at home in December when they lost SU. Now the Lakers are -5 on the road?

You can't make the playoffs in the Western Conference with a record under .500 and that's where the Lakers find themselves tomorrow at Grizzlies.
Thoughts?

Are you just looking at the final box score? Michigan controlled the whole game by DDs and was up by 20 points midway through the 2nd half. The garbage time baskets by Gophers made it a 9 pt game at the end.

AD says he's unsure if he will play. He only played 20 minutes vs the Pacers. The Pels have already said they will reduce his minutes for the rest of the season. Jrue's minutes will also be reduced for the rest of the season. Even if AD plays he might see very few minutes on the floor vs Lakers on a B2B. Pels are trying to protect him from injury.
Clippers won at Grizzlies today. The Clippers are not laying down for the Lakers at all for that 8th playoff spot. This is the type of game the Lakers will need to win down the stretch to make the playoffs. Thoughts? |

WV was a 4pt underdog at Kansas State, now they are 8pt underdog at home? Has much changed since the first meeting between these 2 teams that there's such a big difference in spreads? |

Will you be on the Blazers tomorrow? After tomorrow's home game, the next home game for the Blazers will be March 7th vs OKC (this game against OKC will also be a good spot to back the Blazers). |

Rockets are 4-0 ATS as DD favorites this season, all at home. The Pelicans will be on the first game of a B2B. The second game will be at home vs Nuggets. It's more likely they rally at home around their fans to try to get a win, rather than go all out to try to beat the Rockets/Harden on the road.
