I am a Alabama fan and see no way they cover this 10 point spread. Not a huge college basketball fan but do watch and bet on it. Someone please tell me what I'm missing with this line. If Dayton can beat them by almost 40 I don't think Xavier will have a problem covering 10.

Prescott is probably the best QB in the SEC this year. Don't think there is enough talent around him to pull off the upset but they should keep it close. State plays Bama tough every year and Bama has not played well in the past coming off the game with LSU. If anything take the points. This is a tougher match up for Bama than LSU was.

Well said didn't think it would turn out like it did but knew Harris would have to win it and he showed he couldn't do it.

I have seen worse. Had them +13 myself and was hoping for the push but it is what it is.

Yes it was had SMU as well. After Temple scored to make it 13 which was the number I had just said SMU don't throw a pick 6. Guess they couldn't hear me. Best thing was the CB looking to see if he should score or not.

As a Bama fan I rarely bet on them except for the big games I feel confident about them covering the spread. Just like other teams you have some that will take them to cover every game which is idiotic. Vegas cares only about the money. They want the split and get the juice. They set the line to try and reach their goal of doing that. Bama under Saban I believe is barely over .500 against the spread. If he has a lead he will depend on his defense to win the game and get out with a W. He will not run a score up or try and cover a spread. Vegas sets the line in the Bama games knowing the public will bet them to cover which as I said before under Saban is barely over .500. I played the Under at 47.5 and see it is down to 45 tonight so there has been a lot of movement on that line since earlier today. Feel that is where the value was on this game.

Harris has the check mark in that box. Special teams edge goes to LSU. FG kicking may win this game. Special teams edge in no way favors LSU except FG kicker. The special teams play has been atrocious this year. They are not even in the top 100 teams on special teams in any category except FG's. Tell me how they have the upper hand in this one. Will come down to field position and defensive play and Bama has the better special teams play.

The only good defense he has faced this year though is Florida and they are not as stout as Alabama on D. He is the only QB so far this season with at least 80 pass attempts and no Int's. Think he goes up against a different animal this game though. Not sure he throws a pick but he will be forced to win the game for LSU. Question is do you trust him to do that? |

Do you think LSU can score more than 17? The last 5 meetings with Bama they have scored 9, 0, 17, 17, 13. I know the past doesn't matter but it seems to be a constant lately under the current head coaches. If they can't Bama has a great chance to win and a good chance to cover. The Under is the play for me as I said before. If LSU scores 17 or less Bama would have to go over 30 and I don't see that. Big on the under 47.5, Medium on Bama ML, and small amount on Bama to cover. Know most of you in this thread are LSU fans just my thoughts. Even a 27-20 game would go under on the spread and not sure it gets there.

You are right about Coker not throwing over the middle very often. It was because the coaches didn't trust him throwing over the middle. They didn't trust his decision making early on. I think they have grown to trust him a little more than the start of the season. He has all the talent you could want in a QB but his decision making on the field hasn't been his strong point. He was having problems getting plays in and making reads on the field in a game. That is why Sims played QB last year for Bama. It's the mental part of the game Coker has been lacking in. OJ Howard I think will have to be a big part of the passing game in this one for Bama to have a shot. LSU and Harris need to throw down field early in this game to back the Bama defense off the line. The most important thing is not only for Harris to throw down field but to complete the passes down field. If he can do that it will back the defense up and give the O-line for LSU and Fournette the advantage for a big game for LSU. I hope to see Bo Scarbrough a little more in this game. Kid is a beast. I though it would be the Georgia game he would get more playing time but didn't happen. The suspension and being in the doghouse has hurt his playing time. If he plays more Bama will have a edge with three RB's being fresh all game. |

It will come down to do you think Harris is going to have the game of his life tomorrow? The teams that have beat Saban while at Alabama have played out of their mind in the game to beat Bama. I was wondering has Harris ever played on the road in a hostile environment in a heavy rainstorm with 10-15 MPH winds. While that is not a lot of wind it can be with a wet football and a soaking wet ground with footing issues. It is supposed to rain pretty much all day tomorrow and tomorrow night in Tuscaloosa. Harris will have to win this game for LSU you can bet on that. Fournette is the best back in football this year (maybe ever) and will get his carries and yards but he will struggle to get to 100-150 yards against the Bama D. That will not be enough for LSU to win the game. Like I said it will come down to can Harris carry LSU on his shoulders for the W. Also have heard from a friend close to Bama that the players are pissed that Henry is not getting more respect. Doesn't really mean much but they may play with a chip on their shoulder trying to get him a better game than Fournette. It could also backfire with them pressing to much. As stated above the O-Line for Bama is not nearly as good as the past few years. Wish someone would hire Cristobal off the staff for us. He is a great recruiter but under him the Bama O-line has not been as good as under previous coaches. To me it seems that some lineman have actually regressed since he has been the O-line coach. The LSU defense is almost as good as the Bama D. LSU has the best Defense that no one is talking about. You will hear a lot of people say Saban is great off of a bye week but he is really barely over .500 of a bye not sure why people think he is so great coming off a bye. He is great against a team after losing to them the year before but this does not come into play in this game. Kevin Steele will have very little if any effect at all in this game. Coaches leave and go to opposing programs all the time and the former team makes adjusts because of the matchup. He was pretty much told to leave if he wanted to move up so he did. Will probably be a revenge factor for him but will not be enough to make a difference. Both of these coaches will play not to lose this game for 3 quarters and then they will say oh $hit we are supposed to try and win this game and then it will come down to which team can make a play or drive late to win the game. Same as it has been since both coaches have been at Bama and LSU playing each other. Pick who you want but I will take the Under, Bama money line and throw a little on Bama to cover. Just my thoughts but what do I know. |

Missouri hasn't scored a TD since October 3. Over a month ago and will still have the same offense since Mauk is gone. They do have a very good defense but will not be enough to cover the 8 in my opinion. I took State -7 when it was still at 7. Good luck either way.

I will start this with admitting that I'm an Alabama fan.Congrats on Clemson being #1 but your team has played how many top 25 teams so far this season and if they win this weekend (which they should) will have no test the rest of the season. Boom say what you want but you are clearly wrong on somethings. So if Clemson played other top 25 teams besides Florida State and they fell out of the top 25 would you still count them as good wins? Florida State will probably fall out with a loss to Clemson this weekend will you still call it a great win over a good team? Tenn. is a good football program. Yes they are 4-4 but that is more on coaching than players. They clearly had Oklahoma and Florida beat late as well as Alabama and gave the games away with coaching decisions. They could easily be undefeated right now just as they are 4-4. Pretty sure the committee doesn't care about what ESPN is telling everyone about the teams and vote how they feel the teams should be ranked. I say that and yes I know that ESPN hosts the playoff show and are the big time player in college football as well as most sports. It really doesn't matter who they put in the first poll. I think they had 3 SEC teams in the first or second Poll last year and we all know how that worked out. They put Bama #4 because of their strength of schedule and they play LSU this weekend. If Bama wins they stay in for now if they lose they drop out and probably won't have another shot at it unless all chaos happens as in 2007 LSU. Yes Alabama lost to Ole Miss at home (still having a hard time believing it after watching what happened) but this Ole Miss team could beat anyone in the country if the right Ole Miss team shows up. Come on man Memphis (check the facts) would get demolished by Alabama and you know it. The other teams would definitely have a shot at beating Bama on a neutral field or at Bama. We will see what happens this weekend and go from there as well as the next. The committee leaves itself a open every week to move teams around as they see fit. Not sure if Bama deserves it or not but it is what it is. If the O-Line can gel then they have a shot if not than they will fall and fall hard. Last if Clemson had 5 turnovers in a game can you honestly tell me they would have a shot to tie the game with 2 minutes left in the game?

He is practicing but not 100% he will play. If he does it will probably help on D but he is only one player. Depends on the other guys around him and how they play as to if it makes a big difference with him in there. Hope he plays and the guys around him come together and play better. I'm a Bama fan so I can't bring myself to cheer for Auburn but a win for them would Help Bama out in the SEC west race.
