Just read the guy making fun of Van being even. I would bet there's a lot of sports bettors that only wish they were breakeven bettors. Some of you people seem to think the outcomes of these wagers are life changing, but most lifelong hardened cappers actually bet responsibly. It is just not that serious, and the process of doing the research is the more enjoyable part for us.
Breaking even or being slightly up betting sports is not a bad thing, especially when this is one of your main hobbies......if not your main hobby.......and also when you wager in high volume.
Sometimes, during the busy season, I can have well over 100 wagers in a week. Most people would bleed money betting that much. It is a skill to be able to dance your way out of a 4-5-6 bet losing streak and hedge yourself properly with live bets, etc. It takes balls to trust yourself after you sustain losses.
I don't follow soccer much, and didn't follow this thread as much as I had planned on, but I did learn some stuff from ya, and appreciate your generosity with it.
I cannot imagine being a guy sent to covers rehab for being a dick, and itching to get out and be a dick again. lol. Such a high recidivism rate. It is like the guy lets Van (a random person online that he may actually have some stuff in common with) hang out in his head pissing him off. Weirdos everywhere. This is the internet, so it could be a 12 year old girl as well.....so ya can't really take it that seriously.
Good job Van.

*I have a future on Argentina to win the tournament at +550 for 1.5 units risk
.1, .3, .3, .6, .6, .5 – these are the expected goals against (XGA) for Argentina so far this tournament. One could argue that they have been very unlucky to have given up 5 goals over those 6 matches – and also wonder if the Saudi Arabia loss is the biggest outlier in WC history. After a couple of decades – Argentina has found a defense that is working and is putting a stranglehold on opposition chances.
On the other side – Argentina’s only match without at least 2 goals scored is the Saudi loss. And I have seen enough of France’s defense to know that Argentina will have a lot of chances in this match – likely attacking Upamecano and the right side.
France will have a speed advantage down the wings that should concern Argentina – but I expect Argentina to do what England did in the Quarterfinal by using as many resources as necessary to neutralize him.
This game will come down to one or two moments on either side. I favor Argentina – but not by much – and since the line is right at even it ranks as a 2 unit play for me on Argentina to lift the trophy. But since I have a future that I cannot ignore since it isn’t really a future anymore – I am simply going to ride the future and not make any additional wager.
If I didn’t have the future: Argentina to lift the cup (2 units) – predicted final score Argentina 2-1
Since I do have the future… No bet.
A special thanks to all who took part in this thread. It was a blast!

Thanks. I always find it strange also. When you think about it, I am just some guy writing stuff about sports betting on the internet. Why would that make anyone mad?
I will never get it.

Hey Van, thanks for another amazing World Cup thread. I follow your nfl posts too. A little more noise in there, so I tend to keep quiet. But keep up the great work there and best of luck with the Argentina future.
Cheers
