Blue Jays vs Twins Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today's MLB Game

The Blue Jays racked up 15 runs on Saturday in what was their best offensive performance of the season. Against Bailey Ober on Sunday, we expect that luck to run out.

The Toronto Blue Jays come into today’s series finale riding high following their 15-0 win against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday. Still, our Blue Jays vs. Twins predictions are expecting a much tougher matchup this afternoon against Bailey Ober.

The 6-foot-9 starter is coming off one of his worst outings of the season but looks due to bounce back against a Jays team that was struggling to score before yesterday’s explosion. Read more in my MLB picks below.

Blue Jays vs Twins prediction

My best bet
Twins -1.5 (+100 at PROLINE+)

My analysis
Daulton Varsho and Spencer Horwitz each hit two-run homers as part of a seven-run first inning to help the Toronto Blue Jays defeat the Minnesota Twins 15-0 on Saturday, marking the Jays’ best offensive performance of the season.

The Blue Jays bats were able to take advantage of an inexperienced Twins starter in Zebby Matthews, who was making just his fourth career MLB appearance, but the story could be much different this afternoon as Bailey Ober takes the mound for the series finale.

Minnesota’s 6-foot-9 starter was rocked for seven hits and nine earned runs through just two innings of work against the Braves on Monday but much like Toronto’s 15-run explosion, that looks like more of a freak occurrence than anything. Before Monday’s loss, Ober had gone 7-1 in his last 11 outings while holding the opposition to two earned runs or fewer in nine of those games.

The Jays, meanwhile, have not had much going offensively before Saturday’s win, averaging just three runs per game over the five previous contests while being shut out by the Twins on Friday.

Toronto’s starter, Yariel Rodriguez, has also hit a wall after a solid start to his first season in the majors. The right-hander has given up 15 earned runs over his last three starts (14 1/3 innings) and has not earned a win in eight straight outings.

My best bet
Spencer Horwirtz Over 0.5 RBI (+210 at PROLINE+)

My analysis
Spencer Horwitz had the best month of his short MLB career in August, posting 13 RBI in 28 games while batting a respectable .255. The second baseman is also fresh off his first three-RBI game of the season after logging three hits and a homer in Saturday’s win.

His 13 RBI in August were tied for fourth most on Toronto and with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., George Springer, and Alejandro Kirk sitting out today, Horwitz stands as one of the club’s main offensive weapons.
