The forecast calls for hot, humid conditions with the wind blowing out towards center at the Friendly Confines, and this bodes well for Giants hitter Michael Conforto against Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks.

My analysis
Chicago Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks found himself banished to the bullpen after allowing seven earned runs and a bomb across 4 2/3 frames in his May 17 start against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He’s allowed four or more earned runs in six of seven starts this year.
Hendricks doesn’t have overpowering stuff and relies on a straight-change and sinker to get outs. He’ll mix in a four-seamer and sweeper, but batters from both sides of the plate have blasted those pitches, which bodes well for San Francisco Giants OF/DH Michael Conforto.
Conforto has struggled since returning from nearly a month on the IL; he’s 4-for-44 with a double and a home run. He’s hitting .250 on the road with a good matchup today as lefties stroke .353 with a .400 BABIP against the 34-year-old Dartmouth grad and that bodes well for the struggling Giants slugger.
Wednesday presents us with a typical summer afternoon at Wrigley Field; the forecast calls for a hot, humid day with strong winds blowing out to center. Conforto has always hit righties well and Hendricks has struggled to get lefties out at home. Southpaw bats have blasted two bombs and a pair of doubles with a .400 BABIP and .398 wOBA across 11 frames at Wrigley.
Conforto has a couple of doubles across seven at bats against Hendricks. The sample size is small but should give Conforto additional confidence against the struggling Cubs righty.

Hendricks has struggled to get anyone out as a starter. Lefty bats rake against the righty and that bodes well for not only Conforto but also for Giants OF Mike Yastrzemski.
Yastrzemski is another lefty bat with a BABIP nearly 50 points higher than his batting average. He’s slugging .568 against righties on the road and Hendricks struggles against left-handed bats.
The Cubs righty has cleared 2.5 strikeouts in five of his seven starts. He’ll meet a Giants offense striking out 21% of the time against righties which rises to 23% as the away team.
