The Los Angeles Dodgers are one game away from their eighth World Series, but they’ll need to get past a pesky New York Mets side that hung a dozen runs on them in Game 5.

Tonight’s Mets vs. Dodgers predictions for Game 6 expect big hitting from both sides and maybe a solid yet short appearance on the hill from Mets starter Sean Manaea. Read on as I explain my MLB player props and MLB picks for Sunday, October 20.

Mets vs Dodgers props

Prop bet #1: Sean Manaea Under 15.5 outs

-130 at DraftKings

New York Mets lefty Sean Manaea mans the bump for the second time in this series. He recorded the win in Game 2 over the Los Angeles Dodgers in L.A., scattering two hits with two earned runs across five innings.

He racked up seven strikeouts in Game 2. He’s thrown the baseball very well during this playoff run and pitched decently against the Dodgers this season. The Dodgers generally rake against lefties. They ended the regular season with a.303 BABIP and .337 OBP, with an MLB-leading .458 slugging percentage against southpaws.

Normally, I'd play the Over for Manaea, but Sunday isn’t your typical Sunday night ball game. Game 6 is win or go home for the Mets. Manaea has reached 16+ outs only once during the postseason, and he likely won’t meet or clear that number Sunday night.

Manaea has pitched well in the past against the Dodgers, but the only way he pitches into the sixth inning is if one of two things happens: he has a huge lead, or he’s throwing a no-hitter. I don’t expect either event to occur, so I’m laying some juice and taking his Under 15.5 outs.

Prop bet #2: Mookie Betts Over 1.5 total bases

+120 at BetMGM

Manaea has pitched well against this Dodgers lineup. One batter he’s struggled with, and likely will again on Sunday, is Mookie Betts.

Betts is riding a three-game hitting streak with consecutive home-run games. The Mets rotation has struggled to get the Dodgers slugger out, and they won’t have it easy in Game 6.

The Dodgers All-Star has cracked eight hits across 22 at-bats during this series. He went hitless in two at-bats against Manaea in Game 2, but the Dodgers slugger has a career slash line of .294/.368/.735/.1.104 with three bombs and six extra-base hits across 34 career at-bats against the southpaw.

I like Betts to record 2+ total bases, and Mookie's career marks against Manaea justify the play on its own merits. His career slash line of .318/.380/.615/.995 with nine homers and 16 extra-base hits in 148 at-bats against the remainder of the Mets pitching staff demands this play.

Prop bet #3: Franciso Lindor Over 1.5 total bases

+105 at BetMGM

If the Mets are to advance to Game 7, Francisco Lindor must have a big night at the plate. A catalyst for the Mets, the All-Star has recorded multiple hits in three of his five NLCS games, with two home runs and four extra-base hits during the Mets playoff run.

The Mets slugger should rake Sunday. The Dodgers bullpen has been relatively effective during this series; they’ve allowed 23 hits with 10 earned runs across 24 1/3 NLCS frames, but they also boast a .5.41 xFIP, which opens the door for a couple of Game 6 knocks from Lindor.

His .819 regular-season OPS is a shade below his career mark (.820). It climbed to .897 during the postseason, during which he had eight multiple-hit games. He’s smashed four home runs with two extra-base hits in 51 at-bats against a current L.A. pitcher who may be due for some regression.
