The Toronto Blue Jays will be looking to bounce back from a brutal 12-2 defeat on Opening Day to the Baltimore Orioles as they meet again tonight at the Rogers Centre.

Tyler O’Neill came up big in the season opener, and I’ll explain in my Orioles vs. Blue Jays predictions why I expect that to continue.

My Orioles vs Blue Jays best bet: Tyler O’Neill 2+ Hits (+310 at FanDuel)

The Baltimore Orioles signed Tyler O’Neill in free agency to add an impact bat in the heart of their lineup, and it hasn’t taken him long to do damage. The Canadian slugger was brilliant on Opening Day, going 3-for-3, including a three-run homer to right field.

That extended his MLB record to six straight Opening Days with an HR. It’s unlikely anyone will ever come close to that streak.

Hitting is contagious. O’Neill just had a fantastic game where he was spraying the baseball all over the diamond. Yes, he only hit .186 against the Toronto Blue Jays last season, and he’s slashing just .154 lifetime versus tonight’s starter in Kevin Gausman, but he will be coming in with boatloads of confidence after Thursday’s performance.

And I’ll say it again — he’s on Canadian soil. That undoubtedly helps, especially with friends and family in attendance.

Will he go deep again? Possibly. But instead, I’m eyeing O’Neill to have at least two hits here as he starts his Orioles career in the best way imaginable.

Orioles vs Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Tyler O’Neill 2+ Hits

Over 8.5

Kevin Gausman Under 5.5 strikeouts

The Over has now cashed in three straight meetings between the Orioles and Blue Jays, and there’s reason to believe that will happen again tonight. Charlie Morton, who is on the mound for Baltimore, has never had much success against Toronto.

Yes, he was in the NL for a number of years, but Morton owns a lifetime 4.01 ERA versus the Blue Jays. Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero are both hitting over .300 against him. As for Gausman, he posted a 5.02 ERA last year vs. Baltimore. Runs will be scored tonight off the starters.

Gausman has always been a guy who can rack up the strikeouts. He had 162 Ks in 181 innings in 2024. But when he faced the Orioles last season, it was a different story. In 14 1/3 innings against them, the righty compiled a mere five strikeouts. He’ll stay under 5.5 this evening.
