My analysis

The Boston Red Sox may not be winning as much as fans would like, but that’s no fault of Jarren Duran. Duran, who’s fresh off winning All-Star Game MVP in his first ASG appearance, has been one of the hottest bats in baseball since the start of June.

He’s been so dominant that most sportsbooks have bumped his total bases prop total up to 2.5 at +120 odds and are offering the odds on him to go Over 1.5 as short as -190. Those odds imply a 65.52% probability he’ll finish with at least two total bases, which is wild.

That’s why the better odds are to focus on him going Over 2.5 hits, runs, and RBI. He’s averaging 2.4 per game this season, but that’s jumped up to 2.97 per game over the last two months.

After slashing .365/.420/.636 in June, Duran hasn’t slowed much in July with 40 total bases, three dingers, and six straight games of at least three hits, runs, and RBI. Now Colorado Rockies starter Cal Quantrill is poised to be his next victim.

Unfortunately for Quantrill, his go-to pitch happens to be the worst pitch to throw against Duran. Duran is hammering sinkers — Quantrill uses his 39.7% of the time — batting .435 with a .597 SLG against them this season.

Quantrill has also been sporadic throughout the season and has allowed six home runs in his last five starts. That spells trouble for the 29-year-old, with Duran clocking 10 of his 12 homers off righties this season. One of baseball's hottest hitters facing a contact-first pitcher in hitter heaven Coors Field makes this the best bet on the day.

Red Sox vs Rockies same-game parlay (SGP)

Jarren Duran Over 2.5 H+R+RBI

Rafael Devers 1+ hits

Ezequiel Tovar Over 1.5 total bases

Joining Duran at the All-Star Game was fellow Red Sox slugger Rafael Devers, who made his third appearance. He sits Top 3 in most batting categories for Boston, including hits (95), SLG (.578), and total bases (192).

He’s also been at his best over the last two months, averaging 1.1 hits per game. He should be able to register at least one off Quantrill, especially because he’s batting .310 or better against his top two pitches.

Unlike Duran and Devers, Ezequiel Tovar didn’t crack the All-Star roster this season — Ryan McMahon was Colorado's lone representative. However, Tovar has been the team’s most consistent bat. He leads the Rockies in hits (116), doubles (28), home runs (16), and total bases (196). Tovar has also been far more consistent against righties like Boston starter Nick Pivetta. He’s slashing .290/.307/.381 against right-handed pitchers this season.
