Playoff seeding is still on the line for both the Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks, making tonight’s showdown at Fiserv Forum one of the must-see Tuesday matchups.

Milwaukee has put together four straight victories to stay afloat without Damian Lillard, but the schedule has been friendly and my Timberwolves vs. Bucks predictions expect the hosts to crash back to earth against a Minnesota team that’s working on a win streak of its own.

Timberwolves vs Bucks prediction

My best bet: Timberwolves -5 (-115 at bet365)

My analysis
The Western Conference playoff race is heading for a dramatic finish. Despite winning five straight games, the Minnesota Timberwolves are locked in a four-way tie that leaves them as the No. 7 seed entering tonight’s action.

Play-in jeopardy looms large for Minnesota, but homecourt advantage for the first round is still within reach too — and I see that sparking a dialed-in performance here against the Milwaukee Bucks.

As great as Giannis Antetokounmpo is, the Bucks are painfully short on offensive difference-makers without Damian Lillard on the court, and the T-Wolves have the weapons to take advantage. The visitors are 4-1 ATS in their last five contests, and they’ve won 15 of their past 21 road games.

Anthony Edwards had a barely believable 10-for-33 shooting night when these teams squared off in February — a contest that Milwaukee somehow won without Giannis or Dame — but he’s started April on a tear, and Minnesota has gone past the 120-point mark in six of its past 10 outings.

Meanwhile, the Bucks are just 3-5 in their last eight contests at home, and their current winning run includes victories over the tanking New Orleans Pelicans and Philadelphia 76ers. It’ll be a different proposition for the hosts’ role players here against an in-form opponent.

With the Timberwolves allowing 109.4 PPG this season, the sixth-best mark in the NBA, there’s a solid defensive foundation for the visitors to corral Giannis and land another precious win tonight. I’m laying the points with Chris Finch’s men.

Timberwolves vs Bucks same-game parlay

Timberwolves -5

Anthony Edwards Over 3.5 3-pointers

Brook Lopez Over 13.5 points

Averaging 33 points across his last three contests, Edwards has gone up a gear over the past week as he tries to propel the T-Wolves above the play-in line, and I’m banking on another big stat line here.

Ant is coming off a 37-point effort against the 76ers on Saturday, and he’s knocked down 4+ 3-pointers in each of his last five games. With the Bucks short on perimeter stoppers, I love the Over on 3.5 triples for Edwards, who’s jacked up double-digit 3-point attempts in six straight outings.

Brook Lopez usually looks more comfortable as a third or fourth option for Milwaukee, but he’s been pressed into a bigger role in Lillard’s absence. The results have been solid, with Lopez scoring 17+ points in four straight contests, including 20 points against the Pelicans last time out.

That makes the Over on 13.5 points an easy pick for my SGP, with Lopez showing he’s still capable of getting buckets in the paint.
