The Vegas Golden Knights return home to take on the Boston Bruins at T-Mobile Arena. Vegas is in a tough spot on a back-to-back tonight — coming off a shutout loss in Colorado — and NHL odds have marked the Bruins as slight road favorites.

The Vegas Golden Knights have been dealt a tough hand this season in the injury department. They've been without Shea Theodore for over a month, Adin Hill's injury continues to linger into mid-January, and William Karlsson has been dealing with a lower-body injury for a week. Add on an illness to backup goalie Logan Thompson and it's been a mess in Vegas.

The Boston Bruins haven’t had as many injury issues, but both Linus Ullmark and Matthew Poitras left last game and did not return. While they’ve gotten luckier in the injury department, their depth has still been tested with the retirements of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci.

Vegas is usually able to get by in some low-scoring games, but the Golden Knights’ offense has dried up as of late. They broke out for five goals against the Islanders over the weekend, but outside of that they've scored a total of eight goals in seven games since December 23.

"It's hard to win when you don't score," defenseman Alex Pietrangelo said. "This time of the year you've got to find ways to score goals in every possible way. I think we've got to as a group collectively find a way to score more goals in front of the net. That's a big topic. Our special teams, whether it's the power-play one night or the penalty kill the next, we've got to find a way to get both of them on track."

Unfortunately for the Golden Knights, they're in a really tough spot tonight.

The Bruins are likely to start Vezina Trophy candidate Jeremy Swayman in net tonight. He’s 11-3-6 this season with a 2.50 GAA and .920 SV%. It'll likely be Logan Thompson for the Knights if he's over his illness, but he's been struggling as of late with four losses in his last six starts.

The B’s probably deserved to win one of their last two games and won’t miss out on an opportunity against a tired Golden Knights team tonight in Vegas.

I mentioned the Golden Knights’ offensive struggles above and those should only continue against a stingy team like the Bruins. Even if the Knights are able to get some solid chances, Swayman has been fantastic for Boston this season and is one of the best goalies in the league.
