Flames vs Bruins Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NHL Game

Boston's goaltending has been rough with Jeremy Swayman struggling since his holdout. The Calgary offense will take advantage of that tonight in what should be a high-scoring clash at TD Garden in Boston.

The Calgary Flames will be looking to build on an overtime victory over Montreal when taking on a Boston Bruins team that has not lived up to expectations tonight at TD Garden.

My Flames vs Bruins predictions see the offenses winning out in a game between two teams that have been more dangerous than they appear on the scoresheet.

Let’s take a closer look with my NHL picks for November 7 ahead of the 7 p.m. ET puck drop.

Flames vs Bruins prediction

My Flames pick
Over 5.5 (-125 at BET99)

My Flames analysis

The Boston Bruins have played much better since loading up the top line, looking a lot more dangerous while creating tons of scoring opportunities.

Despite generating 18 expected goals over the past five games, the Bruins have scored only seven times. Perhaps even more stunningly, they created 62 high-danger chances in that span. Only two ended up in the back of the net.

Nobody in the NHL has scored on a lower percentage of shots than Boston (5.26%) in that span. That number will rise significantly sooner rather than later, especially if they keep creating chances as they have.

The Calgary Flames have also played better than the results suggest on the offensive end, running into some poor luck of their own, converting 12.65 expected goals into nine goals over the past five games.

In terms of individuals, key weapons like Nazem Kadri, Mikael Backlund, Andrei Kuzmenko, and Rasmus Andersson combined for 45 scoring chances and ZERO ended up in the back of the net. That’s not going to last.

The Bruins have not gotten good goaltending this season. They own a .884 team save percentage, good for 24th in the NHL.

Jeremy Swayman has struggled to find his footing after missing camp. He enters play having allowed at least three goals in five of his last six starts.

Joonas Korpisalo hasn’t fared much better, allowing upwards of three goals per 60 minutes played.

Flames vs Bruins same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 5.5

Yegor Sharangovich 1+ points

Nazem Kadri 1+ points

Yegor Sharangovich is somewhat of a regression play. He had a big breakout year with the Flames in 2023-24, producing 31 goals and 59 points over 82 games.

He’s a little slow out of the gate this season with one point through six games. That’s understandable given he was forced to jump on a moving train in season.

Sharangovich is too talented to stay this quiet — especially given the workload he’s carrying. He is centering Jonathan Huberdeau — who leads Flames forwards in points — at 5v5 and also skating on the top power-play unit.

He's logged at least 17 minutes in five of six games played. Last year, Sharangovich hit the scoresheet at a 63% clip when playing 17+ minutes.

If this game goes over the number, Sharangovich is likely to have his say.

Kadri is also worth buying low. He hit the scoresheet in 65% of his games last season but has done so at a 38% rate.

This is a nice spot for him to get back on track. Boston takes an awful lot of penalties, which compounds its goaltending issues. No team in the NHL has spent more time short-handed this season.

Kadri plays a prominent role at 5v5 and shares the ice with Sharangovich on the top power-play unit. It’s entirely possible they connect on the same goal and hit two birds with one stone.
