The Ottawa Senators are looking to stay hot with their sixth-straight win as they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight.

This marks the second half of a back-to-back for the Sens after a 5-2 victory in Nashville on Monday night. Meanwhile, the Bolts have been struggling with just two wins in their last seven games — including just six goals in their last four contests.

My Senators vs. Lightning predictions expect another low-scoring game. Read more in our NHL picks for Tuesday, February 4.

Under 5.5 (-104 at Pinnacle)

My Senators analysis
The Ottawa Senators have been clamping down defensively during their win streak and are projected to get starting goalie Linus Ullmark back for tonight's showdown against the Tampa Bay Lightning. In the interim, Anton Forsberg and Leevi Merilainen did an admirable job holding down the fort since Ullmark went down with a back injury in December.

Ottawa has allowed eight goals during its six-game win streak and four of them came in a 5-4 overtime victory over the Capitals. Since then, the Sens shut out the Wild 6-0 and beat the Predators 5-2 last night.

Tampa Bay has also seen its fair share of low-scoring games as of late. The Lightning have been outscored 20-15 during their 2-4-1 stretch, including 9-6 in their last four contests.

Andrei Vasilevskiy (21-15-3, 2.30 GAA, .918 SV%) is confirmed to start for the home side, and the Under is 21-14-4 in his 39 starts. Ullmark also trends to the Under at 12-7-3, and more importantly, the Senators have gone Over the total in just one of their 10 games on zero days of rest.

Senators vs Lightning odds analysis

The Lightning are penned as home favorites at -170, which isn't surprising considering the Senators are on a back-to-back. I'd still consider honing in on the Senators as a live dog of +150 or better given their recent stretch of play.

The total is set at 5.5, with the Over slightly favored at -108. The Under is currently listed -at 105, which is about where I expect it to settle by puck drop.
