Van, Fantastic work as always. I have a question regarding France. Is your trepidation due to Pogba & Kante missing from this year's tournament? I for one think they will be big misses, particularly Pogba. The guy had a knack for being a fantastic ball distributor to the forwards. Plus, Benzima is no spring chicken these days..
I dont have a trepidation with France at all.
It is super weird IMO to post the tournament all the way through to the final from the beginning. I do it for a writeup.... But IF my groups finish exactly right, thats how I see the "tournament" part of it play out.
BUT IT IS ALL ABOUT MATCHUPS.
France could easily win this thing. I dont think there is real value there to bet at the current number - but depending on matchups - they are as good as anyone.

They are the same wager - "Qatar under .5 goals" is also "qatar not to score", also "Ecuador clean sheet".... Just stating it twice for clarification. But it seems to have caused confusion.

Hey Van, look forward to your analysis on Spain. I find it surprising you don't think they get out of Group Play. For a team that came within a whisker of playing in the Euro (2021) Final, and with this year's team still largely intact, suggesting they don't get out of Group Play is shocking. Do tell.
No doubt the talent - but over and over they dont get the goals.
It is definitely a longshot that they dont get out of the group, I like Japan at their odds just a little better.
I think its worth taking a shot at with a team that has inconsistent scoring, playing against solid and organized defenses.

You also add in how you maximize profits by shopping lines, and even tell others to stay a way and why staying away if you can't find the line that fits your betting strategy. I have been checking your picks since I first tried my hand at this shit, and I am blown away at your success rates over time. And since I have been watching WC, I typically tail most all your picks. I bet small, and money I can afford to lsoe, but over the long haul, I never do lose mostly b/c of your advice. Hope others recognize the value you bring. great to see you Van Belgium lost to Egypt today could be on to something with that Not to Qualify play hope not but I see one of the big teams going out early maybe even Brazil just a quick one about that Qatar zero points @ +300 I noticed that is you parlay all 3 of their opponents ML together you get +560 (bet365) in order to get 0 points they have to lose all 3 games so it seems a much better play for the tourney

I have a Qatar total group points line of 2.5 that is juiced to the UNDER - I want to auto-play the UNDER but I cannot lie, given the level of corruption amongst Qatari officials and FIFA, I am *very* suspicious of a potential fluke Qatar win after some super shady PK or something.
