My analysis
Everyone got in on the action for the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday night as they blasted the San Francisco Giants 17-1. The Diamondbacks recorded 21 hits in the ballgame while Blaze Alexander put the exclamation mark on the win with a grand slam as part of a six-run eighth inning.
While he only recorded one RBI himself, leadoff man Ketel Marte was all over the box score with four hits and one run in six at-bats. Marte enters Saturday batting .343 on the season and I’ll look to him to stay hot with another two knocks today.
The second baseman comes into the weekend on a tear, having recorded at least one hit in seven of his last nine games and multiple hits in five of those outings. Marte also carries an active four-game hit streak with a total of 12 knocks over that span.
Marte will be facing Giants starter Kyle Harrison, who has not had the smoothest start to his campaign. The southpaw has surrendered at least three earned runs in three straight starts while holding a bloated 4.70 ERA over four appearances.
The Diamondbacks leadoff man has absolutely feasted on left-handed pitching early on this season, batting .375 with a slugging percentage of .725 vs. southpaws. Marte is seeing the ball well and hitting it hard vs lefties and that should continue against a Giants starter who carries a hard hit % of 44.3 so far this year.

Along with two hits, I’ll look for Marte to record at least three total bases. The second baseman has notched 3+ bases in consecutive games and five of his last nine outings while recording six extra-base hits over that span.
I’ll round out my same-game parlay by taking the Under on 8.5 runs, mostly banking on Diamondbacks starter Zac Gallen here. Gallen owns a 1.64 ERA through four starts this year, holding opponents to one run or less in three of those outings. Meanwhile, the Giants have scored four runs or fewer in five of their last six games.
