Eighteen teams are in action across the Association on Monday, January 6. A marquee matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and Memphis Grizzlies will be one to watch. Still, we’ll focus on two specific Josh Giddey and Zach LaVine picks from a clash between the Chicago Bulls and Victor Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs.

DraftKings NBA Pick6

DraftKings NBA Pick6 fantasy basketball lineup for January 6

Clippers James Harden 20.5 Points: LESS

James Harden has struggled with consistency this season. He’s averaging 21.5 PPG on just 39% shooting from the field, which isn’t exactly efficient. “The Beard” has scored less than 20.5 points in four of the last six games, totaling a combined 27 across the previous two.

In a win over the Hawks on Saturday, Harden had just 10 points. The Los Angeles Clippers face the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight and he scored 5 and 20 points against them in two contests earlier this season. Minny's perimeter defense is exemplary, too. They will keep him at bay.

Timberwolves Anthony Edwards 3.5 Threes: MORE

Anthony Edwards just scored a whopping 53 points on Saturday but the Wolves still lost to the Pistons. Nevertheless, Ant drained 10 of his 15 threes on the night. Overall, he’s shooting 42% from deep and has sunk more than 3.5 triples in four of the last six outings.

Also, Edwards was 4-for-9 from long range in both games against the Clippers this season. After shooting at a bonkers clip the other night, I do believe the ex-first-overall pick will keep it going tonight.

Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo 29.5 Points: MORE

The Milwaukee Bucks may have struggled earlier in the campaign, but Giannis Antetokounmpo has always kept up his dominance. The big man is averaging 32.3 points per night and will certainly be in the mix for the MVP award. The Greek Freak is showing out lately, compiling more than 29.5 points in three of his last four appearances.

Antetokounmpo scored 31 on Saturday against the Blazers and posted 30+ in the two games before that, too. Although he had just 23 points against the Raptors in their last meeting, I don’t see Toronto's 26th-ranked defensive rating slowing him down.

Grizzlies Scotty Pippen Jr. 6.5 Assists: LESS

Even with Ja Morant out, 6.5 assists is a little bit high for Scotty Pippen Jr. After all, he’s averaging 4.9 dimes per game and hasn’t dished out more than tonight’s total in seven games. He has just nine assists across the last three.

The Memphis Grizzlies are up against defensively solid Dallas Mavericks. For what it’s worth, Pippen has only dished out more than 6.5 dimes twice all season. It's safe to say it’s a rare occasion to see him go off as a playmaker, also because his minutes per night aren’t huge, either.

Bulls Josh Giddey 13.5 Assists + Rebounds: MORE

Josh Giddey is a key piece for the Chicago Bulls who can do a little bit of everything. He’s averaging 12.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. The guard has more than 13.5 assists+rebounds in six of his last seven outings and compiled 10 boards and eight dimes on Saturday against the Knicks.

The trends completely point to the Aussie making his presence felt on the glass and as a facilitator against the San Antonio Spurs

Bulls Zach LaVine 22.5 Points: MORE

While Zach LaVine has been inconsistent at times in ‘24-25, he’s balling out lately and the Bulls are loving it. LaVine has easily scored more than 22.5 points in three of his last four appearances, totaling 33, 32, and 37. There was a 15-point performance sandwiched in there, but overall, he is thriving at the moment.

Yes, the guard only poured in 11 points in December against the Spurs, but when you’re confident like this, it can easily carry over to the next game. This is one of LaVine’s best stretches of the season and I see it continuing.
