My analysis
When it comes to rim protection, it doesn’t get much better than Victor Wembanyama and Kristaps Porzingis. With those skyscrapers walling off the paint, the Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs could head into the All-Star break with a defense-first tussle tonight.
Though the Spurs have hit the Over in eight of their last 10 games, the Under has been a winning ticket in five of the past six meetings between these teams — and that’s where I’m looking for my best bet.
A 233.5 total feels high here, especially with Jaylen Brown listed as questionable, and Boston has held three of its last four opponents to 105 points or fewer.
As much as San Antonio’s backcourt of De’Aaron Fox and Chris Paul provides a playmaking spark, that duo could be in for a long night against the Celtics’ gritty perimeter defense.
Boston has hit the 1Q Under in 27 of its last 41 outings, and I’ve got my doubts about the Spurs finding top gear given their 9-15 road mark this year.
The Celtics are coming off a smothering 103-85 victory over the Miami Heat on Monday, and I’m willing to wager that at least one of these teams has a shaky shooting night.

He’s feasted against the Celtics over the years, including a 40-point outburst last season on 16-for-29 shooting, and he’s averaging 24.7 ppg overall this season.
I’m grabbing a Porzingis prop to round out my SGP, and it’s his work on the boards that stand out.
He’s had seven or more rebounds in seven of his past 10 contests, and San Antonio generally sends out small line-ups around Wembanyama.
