Warriors vs Bulls Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight's NBA Game

Jimmy Butler's points prop is set at 18.5, a lofty total for someone who has barely played in the last two months and has not put up big point totals when he has. We're targeting the Under vs. Chicago while Steph Curry is poised to light things up.

After being dealt by the Miami Heat in a huge five-team deal earlier this week, Jimmy Butler is expected to make his Golden State Warriors debut tonight when they head to United Center to take on the Chicago Bulls.

While it’ll be an exciting day for Butler and Golden State fans, my Warriors vs Bulls NBA predictions for Saturday, February 8 don't expect a ton of points from the 35-year-old, who hasn’t hit the court in nearly three weeks.

I dig deeper with my NBA picks ahead of this 8 p.m. ET tip.

Warriors vs Bulls prediction

My best bet
Jimmy Butler Under 18.5 points (-115 at bet365)

My analysis
The Golden State Warriors made a major move Thursday as they swapped Andrew Wiggins and a couple of other pieces for Jimmy Butler, who is expected to play tonight against the Chicago Bulls, but I’m not buying the hype just yet.

The 35-year-old has not played since January 21 after being suspended by the Miami Heat for conduct detrimental to the team and has suited up in just five games since December 21. Not only will Butler have to shake off some rust, but he’ll have to do so while meshing with a new squad.

Even when he was in the Heat lineup, Butler’s play wasn’t exactly inspiring. The small forward averaged just 11.4 points per game in January and has not scored more than 18 points in any of his last six appearances, hitting double digits just twice over that span.

Butler also saw his shot generation take a big dip last month as he went 47.6% from the field on just 8.4 attempts per game — two below his season average.

His time in Golden State may work out, but I’m not convinced that it’ll immediately be a smooth transition for the veteran.

Warriors vs Bulls same-game parlay

Jimmy Butler Under 18.5 points

Stephen Curry 30+ points

Warriors -7.5

If there is one player in the Warriors lineup that’s been putting up points, it’s Stephen Curry.

The point guard has taken matters into his own hands over the last couple of games, scoring 32+ points with six 3-pointers made in each of those contests.

Curry has averaged a mind-boggling 33 field-goal attempts and 19 3-point attempts over that span, which has contributed to the bump in scoring. But even if his shots take a dip, he shouldn’t have a problem scoring against the second-worst defense in the NBA.

The Bulls are 3-5 over their last eight games but when they lose, they tend to lose big. Chicago has lost by at least eight points in each of its previous six defeats and fell 131-106 to Golden State on January 23.
