Cooper Flagg Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Thursday for Arizona vs Duke

Cooper Flagg's scoring is trending the wrong way, but only because his assists are on the rise. Look for him to set up teammates like Tyrese Proctor as Duke dominates Arizona in the Sweet 16, per our March Madness betting picks.

Superstar freshman Cooper Flagg has been improving each game of March Madness thus far and is ready to lead his No. 1 seed Duke Blue Devils (33-3) against the No. 4 seed Arizona Wildcats (24-12) in the Sweet 16 of the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

He previously played this team early in the regular season and had a great performance as Duke won big. My top March Madness picks for Thursday, March 27 believe he can duplicate that performance on a bigger stage.

Cooper Flagg best bet

Over 4.5 assists (-115 at bet365)

These teams met in Arizona all the way back in late November, and that ended in a 69-55 win for the Duke Blue Devils. Cooper Flagg was much more of a scorer than a passer in that game with 24 points and only three assists. However, Flagg has morphed into much more of a distributor as the season has gone along.

Flagg has recorded five or more assists in seven of his last 10 games. He had five and six assists, respectively, in the two NCAA Tournament games thus far. The Blue Devils scored 93 and 89 points in those two games, respectively.

Meanwhile, Flagg has only recorded 20 or more points in two of his last 11 games. He has allowed his teammates, specifically Tyrese Proctor, who have been red-hot from deep to take control of the scoring. I am sure he will see a heavy defensive presence from the Arizona Wildcats after he lit them up for 24 points in the last matchup, which should open more passing opportunities.

The Wildcats allow 13.2 assists per game, which ranks 174th nationally. They allowed 15 assists in the last matchup with Duke, and they just allowed 83 points in the last game to Oregon, even though they only allowed eight assists in that one.

This game is setting up to be a bit higher scoring than their previous matchup and the game is being played in a former NBA arena, which is a big deal for shooters that tend to struggle in the football stadiums that often host Regionals and Final Fours. There should be plenty of assist opportunities for Flagg, and I expect the Duke shooters to convert on them.

Cooper Flagg same-game parlay

bet365

Over 4.5 assists

Over 1.5 made 3-pointers

Cooper Flagg 15+ points

To go with my best bet, I am going to take Flagg to hit at least two threes in this matchup. He shot 2-for-5 from downtown in the last matchup with Arizona, and the Wildcats allow 25.6 3-point attempts per game and 8.6 made threes per game. That ranks 324th and 310th, respectively, in the country.

While I have mentioned that I do not think Flagg will be a big scorer in this game, I will still take an alternate point total for him and pick him to score at least 15 points. He has only failed to hit that point total in five games this season in which he played at least 23 minutes. Unless he gets into surprising foul trouble or re-injures himself, he will surpass that mark.
