Notre Dame vs TCU Prediction, Picks & Best Bets for Saturday’s Women’s March Madness Sweet 16 Game

Although Hailey Van Lith & Co. enter this weekend's Sweet Sixteen matchup as 7.5-point underdogs, the Horned Frogs are well-positioned for a potential upset win over the Fighting Irish.

Get set for an exciting Women’s Sweet 16 clash when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish meet the TCU Horned Frogs in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Horned Frogs defeated the Fighting Irish on a neutral court in November, and my Notre Dame vs. TCU predictions anticipate another closely contested game.

Find out more in my March Madness picks for Saturday, March 29.

Who will win Notre Dame vs TCU?

The TCU Horned Frogs have a veteran-laden team that’s already defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish once this year on a neutral court, and they should do it again on Saturday.

While both teams have talented offenses, the Horned Frogs boast a defense that allowed just 57.5 points per game this season.

Notre Dame is a bit too reliant on the triple, so I believe TCU can slow the Lady Fighting Irish long-range snipers and win this game.

Notre Dame vs TCU prediction

My best bet: TCU +7.5 (-115 at bet365)

This Sweet 16 matchup between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and TCU Horned Frogs features some of the most exciting lady hoopers in the game.

Notre Dame is led by the one-two punch of guards Hannah Hildago and Olivia Miles. Their latest win over Michigan saw the duo come one assist shy of combining for a triple-double, with a solid supporting cast surrounding this dangerous pair.

Three ND shooters are knocking down 40% or better from long range, and when the fast-paced Lady Fighting Irish get hot from downtown, watch out.

However, don't count the Horned Frogs in this head-to-head matchup. They continue to boast an elite defensive squad, and in their November meeting on a neutral court, TCU held Notre Dame to 67 points.

The Horned Frogs slowed the pace to a crawl in that meeting and will do so again Saturday. Guards Hailey Van Lith and Madison Connor should also cook against a Notre Dame defense that has looked vulnerable at times.

TCU's overall physicality, combined with center Sedona Price battling the Fighting Irish interior, should slow Notre Dame's powerhouse offense enough for Van Lith and the Horned Frogs to at least cover the spread.

Notre Dame vs TCU same-game parlay (SGP)

TCU moneyline

Notre Dame team total Under 70.5

TCU team total Over 68.5

Due to SGP requirements, we can’t seem to parlay our best bet with any other game markets that correlate. Let’s play what they give us.

I think TCU can win, so I'll replace the best bet with TCU moneyline for the same reasons. If we play the underdog, full-game totals aren’t on offer, so we’ll take a stab at two half-time team totals.

TCU is stingy defensively, and Notre Dame scoring 71+ might be a stretch. The Horned Frogs haven’t allowed that many points in nine straight, which leads us to our final leg.

They only allowed a TCU team total, so we’ll play Over 68.5. The Horned Frogs have offensive weapons galore, and they’ve cleared this total in four of five.
