Russell Wilson Picks, Predictions, and Best Bets for Monday Night Football

Our NFL betting picks believe Russell Wilson won't have the easiest Monday night through the air, but George Pickens can lend him a hand, especially close to the end zone.

Monday Night Football brings an intriguing clash between the surging Pittsburgh Steelers and the struggling New York Giants at Acrisure Stadium.

I’ve found the best Russell Wilson odds for MNF, and I’ll lay out the reasons my NFL picks see the Steelers' veteran signal-caller having mixed results on October 28 while leaning heavily on George Pickens.

My analysis

Although he got off to a slow start in his Pittsburgh Steelers debut, Russell Wilson eventually figured it out and put together a solid performance in Week 8. The quarterback completed 16 of 29 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns. Overall, Wilson looked good.

It remains to be seen if Russ can keep that up, but I don’t see Monday as a game where he throws for a ton of yards. While the New York Giants are poor in most areas, they do have a brilliant pass defense, ranking sixth in the league. New York allows just 179.4 passing yards per contest.

I’m not saying Wilson won’t produce offense here. He’s still capable of making things happen with shorter throws. But, I don’t believe Russ will surpass the 200-yard mark here. Plus, Pittsburgh will likely rely on their run game, which is their strength.

The Steelers are ninth in the NFL in that category. Expect the ball to be in Najee Harris’ hands a lot on Monday as Mike Tomlin’s squad looks to expose the Giants’ weakness.

Russell Wilson MNF same-game parlay

Russell Wilson Under 199.5 passing yards

George Pickens Over 4.5 receptions

Russell Wilson Over 1.5 passing TDs

George Pickens has emerged as Pittsburgh’s top target in 2024. He has 31 receptions for 474 yards, which both lead the team. Pickens also has one touchdown. The former Georgia standout balled out with Russ against the New York Jets, reeling in five grabs for 111 yards and a score.

To be frank, Pickens didn’t have huge reception yards like that with Justin Fields under center. He’s clearly got some impressive rapport with Wilson already and it showed in Week 8. What we’re going to focus on here is his number of receptions.

Pickens has hit the Over in catches in four of his eight appearances in ‘24. Again, he and Russ have some chemistry already, and although I don’t think Wilson is going to go off for 200+ yards, Pickens will be his go-to target on Monday evening.

Wilson threw for two touchdowns vs. the Jets and the Giants do allow a lot of points, even though their pass defense tends to be a bright spot.

Additionally, Wilson did throw for 26 scores in 15 games last season for the Broncos. He’s always been a QB who can find a way to score points, even if it doesn’t mean deep balls. Russ will make the most out of his throws versus the Giants and find the end zone at least twice.
