There are only 10 days left in the NBA regular season and betting on NBA player props can be tricky at this time of the year. Teams that are eliminated from the postseason have a tendency to shut down veterans at this time in the season and give more playing time to young prospects.

That's why my NBA picks for today are backing a pair of rookies on their player props.

Here are my best free NBA player props for Friday, April 4.

NBA player props for April 4

Ryan Dunn Under 0.5 assists (+120 at bet365)

Ryan Dunn has been held without a single assist in six of his last nine games. The Phoenix Suns wing will have a tough time going over his assists prop of 0.5 against the Boston Celtics tonight.

Even with the Celtics essentially locked into the No. 2 seed in the East, they've been playing hard on their own end of the floor. They're coming off a rare poor defensive performance against Miami (where they sat Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday) but are still third in the league in points per game allowed (107.9).

This is a Celtics squad that ranks fifth in the league in defensive rating and plays at one of the slowest tempos in the league. That will suppress numbers across the board for Suns players and with Kevin Durant sidelined, that's one less elite scorer for Dunn to get the ball to.

Tidjane Salaun Over 4.5 rebounds (-115 at bet365)

Charlotte Hornets forward Tidjane Salaun is averaging 4.5 rebounds in just 19.8 minutes per game. The rookie has seen his playing time tick up lately which has resulted in higher numbers. He's averaging 26.0 mpg with 7.0 rpg over the last six games.

Season-ending injuries to forwards Grant Williams and Brandon Miller have led to more playing time for Salaun since January. With Josh Green also sidelined tonight, he's in line for even more minutes.

Salaun has gone Over 4.5 boards in five of his last six games and he should eclipse that number tonight against an-tempo Kings squad.

Yves Missi Over 8.5 rebounds (-110 at bet365)

The New Orleans Pelicans have almost their entire starting lineup on the IR. The only exception is rookie center Yves Missi who has thrived with a bigger workload.

The former five-star recruit leads all rookies with 8.2 rebounds in 26.9 minutes per game. He has grabbed more than 8.5 boards in eight of his last nine games while averaging 9.6 rpg over that span.

Missi has a great matchup tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers and mediocre center Jaxon Hayes. The Lakers have struggled on the interior since trading away Anthony Davis. They are 23rd in the league in rebounding rate over the last 15 games and will have a tough time keeping the 6-foot-11 Missi off the glass.
