My analysis
The Vanderbilt Commodores shocked the world three weeks ago when they took down the Alabama Crimson Tide, 40-35 in Nashville. They followed that up with another upset win on the road at Kentucky, 20-13. That all was preceded by two consecutive losses to Georgia State and Missouri.
However, even the Missouri loss was an impressive showing by taking the Tigers to OT on the road. The Commodores just absolutely love playing close games and are not the type to get blown out by anyone.
The biggest reason for this is their efficiency on offense. They rank 11th in the country in time of possession, 10th in passing efficiency, and 28th in completion percentage. Quarterback Diego Pavia is a true dual threat that limits mistakes with 14 total touchdowns to only one interception. Vandy has also lost only one fumble the entire season.
Texas may be the most talented team in the nation, but it got a rude awakening to the SEC last week, losing to Georgia at home. That was the Longhorns' first real test in their new conference after playing a terrible Mississippi State team and new to the SEC Oklahoma prior to that UGA game. Vandy is a legit SEC team this season, and it won't be a pushover for the Longhorns.
Texas has very few weaknesses, but one of them is losing the turnover battle. The Commodores have a +6-turnover margin which ranks 17th in the country.
The Longhorns have turned the ball over 12 times this season, and Vandy can force some mistakes. I would be surprised if the Commodores can pull off another huge upset outright, but they'll keep this one close throughout.

Another reason to love Vandy is its ability to stay on the field by converting third downs. The Commodores rank eighth in the country, converting 52.1% of them.
The second and final leg of this same game parlay will be the Over. As efficient as Vandy has been on offense, it still has allowed some big passing yards to opponents. That will be a problem against the Longhorns and their No. 2 passing offense in the country.
