There are always dozens of NFL player prop markets available on the Super Bowl odds board, and that includes the defensive side of the ball.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs have two of the best stop units in the league, so don't overlook their defensive players when you're making your NFL picks for Super Bowl 59. My Super Bowl sack and tackle props are betting on a pair of Eagles linebackers and a pair of Chiefs defensive linemen.

Best Super Bowl sack picks
Tershawn Wharton 1+ sacks
Chris Jones is the biggest name on this Kansas City Chiefs defense but fellow interior defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton has done a better job of getting to the quarterback over the last couple of months.
Wharton has picked up a sack in both of KC's playoff contests, and he's now racked up at least one sack in five of his last seven games. Wharton is undersized for an interior lineman, but he has an explosive first step and does an excellent job of getting penetration.
The Eagles have an elite offensive line, but Jalen Hurts' tendency to run around in the pocket to try and extend plays can result in him getting sacked a lot. He's been sacked 4+ times in six games this season, including the NFC Divisional Round when the Rams took him down seven times.
Eagles center Cam Jurgens and guard Landon Dickerson are also banged up, and while they'll certainly play in the Super Bowl, they might be less than 100%.
Tershawn Wharton sacks: 1+ (+200 at Caesars)
Nolan Smith 1+ sacks
Nolan Smith led the Philadelphia Eagles with 6.5 sacks during the regular season, which is particularly impressive when you consider he didn't start till midseason. Smith averaged 26 snaps per game through his first 10 games of the season but has logged 51.7 snaps per game over his last nine contests.
Smith has picked up a sack in each of Philadelphia's three postseason games and has logged 1+ sacks in seven of his last 10 contests overall.
The Chiefs are a middle-of-the-pack team when it comes to sacks allowed per game (2.4), and Smith will have a matchup advantage against right tackle Jawaan Taylor. Taylor is a 330-pound monster, but he doesn't have the agility or foot speed to handle Smith, who runs a 4.39 40-yard dash.
Nolan Smith sacks: 1+ (+106 at Caesars)

Best Super Bowl tackle picks
Mike Danna 4+ tackles + assists
Mike Danna has logged 4+ tackles in nine of 14 games this season. The veteran defensive end has continued to get plenty of reps even after Charles Omenihu returned from the IR at the end of November.
The Eagles love to attack the edges with their run game, while Danna does a good job of setting the edge and maintaining leverage, which should put him in a good spot to rack up tackles in the Super Bowl. Keep in mind Danna had the second-best tackling grade (78.9), per PFF, among ends with at least 50% of the league average snaps.
Mike Danna tackles + assists: 4+ (-102 at Caesars)
Zack Baun to have the most tackles + assists
The 12+ tackles milestone for Zack Baun is +105, but if he hits that lofty number, he'll almost certainly lead the game in tackles, so this play provides better value at +180.
The All-Pro linebacker was fourth in the league in tackles per game (9.4) during the regular season and racked up a total of 151 tackles, with Nakobe Dean next on the team with 128 tackles. Dean tore his patellar tendon in the Wild Card Round which gives Baun little competition for the tackles lead.
Meanwhile, Nick Bolton led the Chiefs with a modest 106 tackles during the regular season and has logged 6+ tackles just once in his last six games. Double-digit tackles from Baun will likely be enough to win this prop, and he's done that in seven of his last 13 games.
With the Chiefs offense generally attacking the middle of the field with short and intermediate routes, there will be plenty of opportunities for Baun to get to the ball on Sunday.
Most tackles + assists: Zack Baun (+180 at Caesars)
