ick Suzuki was all over the score sheet in a 5-2 win for the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night and will look to extend his point streak to seven games when the Habs travel to Wells Fargo Center to take on the Philadelphia Flyers.

My Canadiens vs. Flyers predictions explain why Montreal’s captain will keep that streak alive. Read more in my NHL picks for Sunday, October 27.

My Canadiens pick
Nick Suzuki Over 0.5 assists (+125 at BET99)

My Canadiens analysis
The Montreal Canadiens snapped a four-game losing streak last night with a comfortable 5-2 victory against the Blues. It was a feel-good game for Kirby Dach, who notched his first goal since 2023, while Cole Caufield also scored his team-leading seventh tally of the season.

Nick Suzuki also made his presence felt on the score sheet, collecting a pair of assists to extend his point streak to six games. The Canadiens captain has recorded seven helpers during his point streak, and I’m expecting him to add another assist tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers.

While Suzuki has generated his fair share of shots, averaging just over 2.0 per game, he’s definitely not the triggerman on his line with Caufield and Dach on his flanks.

Caufield leads the club with 22 shots (2.75 per game), while Dach isn’t far behind with 20 (2.5 per game). That’s freed Suzuki up to play the role of playmaker, collecting seven assists in eight games to start the season.

The Habs have also benefited from a strong power play early on as they’re clicking at 24.1% — the 10th-best mark in the NHL. Suzuki has only posted two of his points on the man advantage. Still, I like his chances of factoring on a power-play goal if the Canadiens can continue to thrive in that area.

Canadiens vs Flyers same-game parlay (SGP)

Nick Suzuki Over 0.5 assists

Canadiens moneyline

Over 6.5

While the Flyers enter tonight hot off a 7-5 win against the Wild, Philly has had a rough start to the season, dropping six straight games prior to Saturday’s victory. That’s in large part due to their porous defense, which ranks dead last in the NHL at 4.50 goals against per game.

The Canadiens haven’t been much better defensively, giving up 3.63 goals against per contest (fifth), but they should have a slight edge in net with Cayden Primeau (.880 SV%) likely going up against Ivan Fedotov (.821 SV%). The Habs have also historically dominated this matchup, with six wins in the last nine meetings.

With both clubs struggling defensively to start the year, the Over is always going to look appetizing. Philadelphia has cashed the Over in five of its last seven games, while the Over is 3-0 in Montreal’s last three outings.
