The Boston Bruins hit the road tonight to visit the Vancouver Canucks, who are coming off a dominant win against the defending Stanley Cup champions.

My Canucks vs. Bruins predictions are eyeing Jake DeBrusk to keep his hot streak up and score against his former team here.

Keep reading for my NHL picks for Saturday, December 14.

Canucks vs Bruins prediction

My Canucks pick
Jake DeBrusk Over 0.5 goals (+190 at Pinnacle)

My Canucks analysis
After seven seasons in Boston, Jake DeBrusk signed a lengthy deal with the Vancouver Canucks, and it’s been a massive signing for the organization.

He’s been everything Vancouver could’ve asked for and more, leading the team with 14 goals to go along with nine assists.

DeBrusk is on absolute fire right now. He’s scored seven goals in his last six appearances and just found the back of the net in two contests in a row against the Florida Panthers and the St. Louis Blues. The 28-year-old has really found a home with the Canucks.

In his first revenge game against the Bruins in late November, DeBrusk also scored. While 11 of his goals have come on the road, it’s hard to look past how well DeBrusk is playing lately in general. He has a ton of confidence, and there’s going to be extra motivation facing Boston, the club that brought him into the NHL.

Having scored in eight of his last 10 games, this bet offers immense value tonight at Rogers Arena. DeBrusk will play a key part offensively. Lock in the Over at favorable +190 odds.

Canucks vs Bruins odds analysis

Recent meetings between Boston and Vancouver have been relatively low-scoring, with the last four having hit the Under.

These teams aren’t exactly playing great defensively this season, though. The Bruins are 25th in goals allowed, while the Canucks are 17th. That could mean we may see a higher-scoring tilt tonight.

As for head-to-head, the Canucks are 3-2 in their last five contests against Boston. They’re looking for their second consecutive victory after blanking the Panthers 4-0 on Thursday. The Bruins, meanwhile, have dropped back-to-back games.
