The Vancouver Canucks seek a fifth straight road win when they take on the Anaheim Ducks tonight at the Honda Center.

Anaheim is the lowest-scoring team in the league, which has my Canucks vs. Ducks predictions leaning toward the Under on the host's team total.

Read about it below in my NHL picks for November 5, with puck drop at 10:00 p.m. ET on Sportsnet Pacific.

Canucks vs Ducks prediction

My Canucks pick
Ducks team total Under 2.5 (-125 at Pinnacle)

My Canucks analysis
While it’s yet to be announced, the Vancouver Canucks should be starting Kevin Lankinen between the pipes. He turned in another A+ performance last game, stopping 21 of 23 shots in a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks.

Lankinen is 5-0-2 with a .919 SV% on the year while holding down sixth in the league with a sparkling 2.25 GAA. Not bad for a guy who was supposed to keep the seat warm while incumbent Thatcher Demko worked his way back from injury.

During this four-game road fun run, the Canucks have surrendered seven goals, letting just one opponent get to three.

That’s not the news the Anaheim Ducks want to hear, as they're dead last in the NHL in total goals (24). They also possess a Bottom 6 powerplay, hitting at a lowly 13.9% rate.

That dried-up offense is a big reason why the Ducks have just two wins over the last eight. Anaheim has been held to two goals or less on seven occasions this season, most recently in a 4-2 loss to the Blackhawks.

Vancouver has dominated this head-to-head, winning seven in a row while also holding the Ducks to two goals or less in six straight contests. That’s enough to trust Vancouver’s defense and netminder to shut down the home team again.

Canucks vs Ducks Over/Under analysis

Over the last 10 head-to-head matchups, Vancouver has been the betting favorite nine times, with the Ducks going 1-8-0 against the moneyline. This will be just Vancouver’s third game against a Pacific Division team, with a current 1-0-1 record.

Each of the last six games between the Canucks and Ducks have cashed the Under. Anaheim has gone Under the total three straight and six times in the last seven games.
