Flames vs Predators Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NHL Game

Both the Flames and the Predators bring hot goalies and cold offenses into this Friday night affair. Neil Parker will gladly take the Under at this generous line.

The Calgary Flames welcome the Nashville Predators to Scotiabank Saddledome Friday, November 15, and the two clubs have both been struggling to bury the biscuit to start the season.

My top Flames vs. Predators predictions and NHL picks expect these Under trends to continue tonight.

My Flames pick
Under 6 (-110 at BET99)

My Flames analysis

The Calgary Flames have played to the Under in eight of their past nine games, and the Under has cashed in five of the past six for the Nashville Predators. They also respectively rank 24th and 32nd in goals per 60 and 23rd and 21st in expected goals per 60 at 5-on-5.

Calgary has received excellent goaltending, and projected starter Dustin Wolf is coming off a sharp 28-save win over the Los Angeles Kings to improve to a .913 save percentage and 2.84 GAA with 0.10 goals saved above average per 60.

I’m also encouraged that Preds netminder Juuse Saros has found his game. He sports a .934 SV%, 2.00 GAA, and 0.61 GSAA/60 across his past five starts.

Additionally, Calgary has been incredibly stingy on home ice. The Flames have allowed the seventh-fewest goals per game (2.63) and third-fewest per 60 minutes (1.42) at 5-on-5.

On the flip side, Nashville has traveled poorly with the fewest goals per game (1.86) and second-fewest goals per 60 (1.53) at 5-on-5 on the highway.

Finally, I would attach a -110 price to a 5.5 total, so this checks out as one of the best values I’ve seen this season.

Flames vs Predators same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 6

Flames moneyline

Connor Zary Over 1.5 shots

Calgary is 5-3 at Scotiabank Saddledome, and Nashville is an atrocious 1-3-3 on the road this season. As noted, the Flames have also played excellent team defense at home, and the Preds haven’t been able to score consistently on the road.

Turning to Calgary forward Connor Zary, he’s growing into an expanded role and has recorded two or more shots in four of his past five games. His shot volume also climbs on home ice with 8.32 shots and 15.33 attempts per 60, compared to respective 6.49 and 12.63 road marks.

Zary has also seen his ice time climb to 18:55 per game during the noted five-game stretch compared to just 17:23 across the first 12 contests of the campaign.
