The Winnipeg Jets are on a 16-2-1 run against the Anaheim Ducks dating back to the 2016/17 season, and Winnipeg will look to keep the dominant stretch going at Honda Center on Wednesday, December 18.

Anaheim is 5-9-1 on home ice this season, and our Jets vs. Ducks predictions and NHL picks are expecting Winnipeg to take care of business in regulation tonight.

My Jets analysis
The first-place Winnipeg Jets have rebounded from a four-game losing streak with an active 5-2 stretch and remain a well-rounded defensive team.

Winnipeg has allowed the fourth-fewest goals per game (2.55) and fourth-fewest goals per 60 minutes (1.95) at 5-on-5. And, while the Jets sport a 20th-ranked 78.2 penalty-kill percentage, I’m not overly concerned about a potential special-teams mismatch Wednesday because the Anaheim Ducks have a 28th-ranked 15.7 power-play percentage.

Of course, Anaheim also struggles to score at any strength with a 31st-ranked 2.41 goals per game and 30th-ranked 1.94 goals per 60 at 5-on-5. Add Winnipeg ranking better in Corsi For percentage and expected goals percentage at 5-on-5, and it’s a clear sweep in the numbers for the league-leading Jets.

This is also a sneaky schedule spot because while all the attention will be on it being a back-to-back road spot for Winnipeg, SAP Center and Honda Center are only 370 miles apart. Additionally, the Jets don’t play again until Saturday in Minnesota.

A Winnipeg win Wednesday night is a green-light special to enjoy The Golden State tonight and tomorrow before heading back north and regrouping for Saturday’s game against the Wild. If I called "Winterpeg" home, I'd want to enjoy some rays.

Jets vs Ducks odds analysis

There hasn’t been a significant move to this moneyline at Pinnacle. Additionally, while I’ve bet the regulation market, the odds are all correlated, so I also support betting the Jets on the moneyline (-185) and puck line (+138).

Both teams have long-standing trends to the Under, and as noted, Anaheim has one of the worst offenses in the league jumping the boards. So, I find it interesting that Pinnacle has moved off the opening 5.5-goal total twice to test a 6-goal number.
