Jets vs Golden Knights Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NHL Game

Goaltending and defense have told the story for the Jets and Golden Knights of late, and that should be the case when the two face off in Sin City tonight.

It’s a Western Conference showdown between a pair of powerhouses at Canada Life Centre on Thursday, December 12, with the Winnipeg Jets hosting the Vegas Golden Knights.

The two teams have been trending to the Under and playing excellent defense leading into tonight’s bout, and our Golden Knights vs. Jets predictions and top NHL picks are calling for another low-scoring affair between the conference contenders.

Jets vs Golden Knights prediction

My Jets pick
Under 6 (-110 at Pinnacle)

My Jets analysis
Goals are going to be tough to come by Thursday at the Canada Life Center. The Winnipeg Jets have allowed the second-fewest goals per game (2.53), and the Vegas Golden Knights surrendered the ninth-fewest (2.89).

Goaltending has been the key for Winnipeg, with Connor Hellebuyck posting an elite .927 save percentage, 2.09 GAA, and 0.75 goals saved above average per 60 minutes. It’s little surprise he’s the betting favorite in the Vezina Trophy odds.

It’s been a similar story for the Golden Knights, with Vegas ranking eighth with a solid .900 team save percentage. Of course, No. 1 goalie Adin Hill has also rounded into top form with a .922 SV%, 2.16 GAA, and 0.43 GSAA/60 across his past 13 starts.

He’s been a key reason for the Golden Knights tidying up defensively of late with just 2.4 goals against per game across their past 10, and of course, Vegas has only had captain Mark Stone in the lineup for 14 of 28 games.

I also value the tape-measuring aspect of this game between Western Conference powerhouses. I’m anticipating both teams paying particular attention to defensive detail early in an attempt to limit scoring opportunities.

Plus, Winnipeg is 10-3 on home ice while allowing just 2.38 goals per game, and Vegas hasn’t packed the same offensive punch on the road with 3.07 goals per compared to 3.93 at T-Mobile Arena.

Jets vs Golden Knights Odds analysis

There has been a move to the Vegas side of this moneyline at Pinnacle. The Jets opened as a -130 home favorite and are trading at -119 as of Thursday morning.

This total has moved slightly to the Under, with the opening -106 odds adjusted to -110. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this game trading with a 5.5 total before puck drop, either.
