We’ve got 12 games on the NHL betting slate tonight, including an all-Canadian clash between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Vancouver Canucks
The NHL odds like the Canucks to win tonight, and I think they’ll look to take advantage of a slumping Leafs penalty kill to get it done.

Maple Leafs vs Canucks predictions
The Toronto Maple Leafs continue their Western Canadian road trip tonight against the Vancouver Canucks.
The Leafs beat Vancouver earlier this season when they won 5-2 in Toronto, but Vancouver has since gone on to become one of the best teams in hockey, sitting atop the NHL standings with 64 points and entering as winners of six of its last seven. The Buds did get themselves back into the win column Thursday night with a win against Calgary, but it wasn’t a Picasso of a victory, and they had dropped four in a row before that game.
Part of the problem since returning from the California road trip has been an inability to keep the puck out of the net while on the penalty kill. The Leafs PK is 77% on the year, but just 64% over their last six games since the trip. That feels like a good spot to look at for value in tonight’s betting market.
The Canucks power play ranks 11th in the NHL with a 23.1% success rate and has scored in three of their last four games. A name that has factored in all three of those goals is J.T. Miller. In fact, Miller has registered a point on each of the last five goals scored by the Canucks power play.
Miller ranks sixth in the NHL in points on the man advantage with 25 — 14 of which have come on home ice — and he’s getting +165 odds for him to get a power play point tonight against the Leafs. Additionally, he's cashed this prop in three of the last four games against Toronto and has a total of eight PP points over the last 10 meetings.
My best bet: J.T. Miller Over 0.5 power-play points (+165 at SIA)

Maple Leafs vs Canucks same-game parlay
Whether it’s been on the man advantage, 5-on-5, or shorthanded, Miller has been a goal-scoring machine against the Leafs, with goals in five straight games and six of his last seven. The Canucks average nearly four goals per game at home, and he’ll be one of the guys to light the lamp.
Next up, I like the Over on Vancouver’s team total of 3.5 goals. The Canucks are third in the NHL, averaging 3.9 goals per game on home ice. Which should bode well for Vancouver, who hosts a Leafs team that has given up 4+ goals in four of their last five games.
For my final leg, let’s roll with an anytime goal from Auston Matthews. He’s the NHL goal leader and is coming off a hat-trick performance in Calgary. Plus, there’s a long history of Matthews torching the Canucks with 18 goals through 22 career games against Vancouver.

Maple Leafs vs Canucks moneyline and Over/Under analysis
The Maple Leafs come into tonight as underdogs at +110, with the Canucks at -135. Vancouver is, flat-out, a better hockey team and should be able to win this game on home ice. They lead the league with 30 wins this year with a 15-5 home record on the moneyline with a +34 goal differential.
The total for tonight’s game is sitting at 6.5, with the favored side being the Over at -130, while the Under is offering plus-money at +105. The Over is just 3-6-1 over the past 10 meetings between these teams, and they combine for a 9-10-1 record between both clubs over their last 10 games. Outside of Matthews, the Leafs have struggled to find the back of the net, which could prove to be difficult against the Canucks, who give up just 2.2 goals per game at home this season.
At plus money, there is good value on the Under. Perhaps consider an alternate total of 7.5 goals.
