I attended this event last year. I was in Vegas at the time and as I have admitted on many occasions here, I am far from God's gift to handicapping. I thought this seminar may be interesting and I might learn a lot from it. However, I came away disappointed.

I thought the stuff with Ken White was excellent. He gives you a look inside the lines and how him and his staff make a line. I thought that was really interesting, especially for someone like me who knows more about defending the option and dissecting the run n shoot than I do why a line is adjusted three points.

But after that, it kind of dragged on and was boring in my opinion. It was really nothing more than this message board stuffed into two days. Just a panel of handicappers telling me who they thought was going to win the SEC and giving me their "sleepers."

I'm sorry but I feel that guys like us here at Covers know that stuff just as well as them. I was hoping to hear more gambling stuff. No offense but I will put my general CFB knowledge up against most of these touts. What I came there for was to learn more of the handicapping side of things and I didn't feel like I got that. I really don't care who they think is going to win the SEC and they do that for every major conference. Very long and drawn out. If you look around the room, everyone seems bored by the third conference.

So the stuff from Ken White was very good but overall I thought it kind of dragged on. It was one of those things I found myself wishing were over long before it was actually over. But hey, if it's free, go and judge for yourself. What do you have to lose?
