San Francisco Giants pitcher Logan Webb will likely be making his final start of the season tonight vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks. Webb is 12-10 with a 3.58 ERA on the season and fared well in his lone start against the Diamondbacks this year.
Webb threw seven shutout innings of two-hit ball against the Diamondbacks on April 18 for his second win of the season. He’s been a workhorse all year long for the Giants, so seeing his outs total at just 17.5 seems a bit low.
Sure, Webb may not have reached this number in his last two outings, going just four innings against the Padres and five against the Orioles, but it’s not as if the Giants have a shorter leash on him. He threw 83 and 96 pitches, respectively, in those starts and won’t take it easy against the Snakes in Arizona.
