The Baltimore Orioles hope to make it a series sweep when they meet the Texas Rangers for Game 3 of their three-game series. The Rangers bats have been rather silent this series, but those sticks could get loud in a hurry as they have an exploitable matchup against Dean Kremer.

Find out why my MLB picks and Orioles vs. Rangers predictions believe Corey Seager should have a big day at the plate.

My analysis
The Texas Rangers are riding the offensive struggle bus. The defending World Champions boast a powerful offense on paper but have scored only five runs in this series with the Baltimore Orioles and 11 runs across their past five games.

Why Texas isn’t scoring runs is anyone’s guess. They don’t strike out much (20%) and their above-average walk rate (8.5%) should lead to more runs than the two runs and change they’ve produced across their last five.

If the Texas sticks are riding the struggle bus, shortstop Corey Seager is the driver. Seager’s seasonal numbers are down from his career marks and he’s gone hitless in this series, but that could change against Orioles righty Dean Kremer.

Kremer is making his fourth start after missing nearly two months with a triceps injury. He’s had mixed results since his return, allowing three home runs and seven earned runs across 13 2/3 frames — left-handed sticks like Seager have blasted nine of Kremer’s 13 home runs allowed this season.

He's primarily a fastball pitcher with declining velocity. The declining velo causes 60% of Kremer’s batted balls to be either line drives (16%) or fly balls (44%).  While the sample size is small, Seager’s head-to-head numbers against Kremer (4-7, .571) are solid, and his 49% hard-hit percentage against righties is spectacular and should allow the Rangers slugger a strong opportunity to clear this number.

Orioles vs Rangers same-game parlay (SGP)

Corey Seager Over 1.5 total bases

Marcus Semien Over 1.5 total bases

Dean Kremer Under 4.5 strikeouts

I like Seager quite a bit today but second baseman Marcus Semien also boasts a solid head-to-head matchup with Kremer, and the Rangers' low strikeout rate makes the Kremer strikeout prop a tasty one.

Semien had his six-game hitting streak snapped Saturday, but he’s cleared 1.5 total bases in seven of his past 10. Semien’s small sample size against the Birds starter (5-14, .357), should lead to an extra-base hit today.

Kremer has been on a short, 80-84 pitch count since his return to the club with 5+ strikeouts only once across those three starts. Texas boasts the sixth-best strikeout rate against righties (20%) and I don’t expect the Orioles righty to pitch deep enough to clear his strikeout prop.
