My analysis
The Boston Red Sox pitching staff will have their hands full today against New York Yankees OF Juan Soto.
That’s because Soto has crushed right-handed pitching this season and that’s all he’ll likely face beginning with starter Kutter Crawford.
Soto has a small, but impactful history against the Red Sox righty. The Yankees slugger has cracked a bomb with one double in nine at-bats, and he’s slashing .295/.420/.584.1.004 with 26 bombs and 24 extra-base hits against right-handers this season.
Crawford has coughed up three HRs across his previous 12 1/3 innings, and lefty sticks have cracked 20 of his 31 dingers allowed. The Boston ‘pen has been worse; they’ve allowed 40 home runs across their previous 195 frames with a 42.5% pull rate.
While taking a shot at the HR prop is enticing, I’ll go with Over 1.5 total bases today. Soto has 24 extra-base hits against the righties this season and he’s also recorded 24 extra-base hits at Yankee Stadium. He’ll see an abundance of right-handed pitching today and should clear 1.5 total bases.

My analysis
Yankees OF Aaron Judge is a slugging machine.
Crawford knows this firsthand. The Yankees slugger has tagged Crawford for three home runs and six hits across 19 career at-bats, including his 37th HR of the season on July 27.
Unfortunately for Crawford, Judge is coming in hot. He extended a four-game hitting streak yesterday by cracking his 14th double of the season at Yankee Stadium.
Judge does most of his damage against the righties, and like Soto, he’ll see plenty of them today. Judge has cracked 26 of his 34 doubles and his only triple while clubbing 36 home runs against the right-hand side.
The Yankees slugger leads the league in home runs (52) and RBI (130), most of which is done at Yankee Stadium. He’s been hot, crushes righties at home, and has a tasty matchup against Crawford and a bad Boston bullpen.

Big days from Soto and Judge usually give the Yankees a good chance to win, and I believe they will beat Boston today.
NY starter Carlos Rodon has thrown well this season at Yankee Stadium. He’s 8-2 while twirling a 3.07 ERA. Rodon strikes out over 10 per nine and meets a Boston offense with a 28% strikeout rate against lefties.
Rodon is 1-1 with 14 Ks this season against Boston. The Bombers have won each of the southpaws' last five home starts, and I like the Yankee bullpen and its second-best groundball rate better than Boston's MLB-leading 40-home runs since the break.
