Victor Wembanyama is set to return tonight for the San Antonio Spurs as they face the Golden State Warriors for the second time in three days.

Despite Wemby’s absence and a hip issue for Devin Vassell, the Spurs rolled to a 126-113 win in Saturday’s matchup as Keldon Johnson dropped 22 points and four other San Antonio players had 17+ points.

Klay Thompson and Jonathan Kuminga combined for 53 points for the Warriors, who’ve now lost two in a row and face an uncertain March due to Steph Curry’s ankle injury.

Read on for my free Warriors vs. Spurs NBA picks for Monday, March 11.

Warriors vs Spurs predictions

In an ultra-challenging season for the Golden State Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga’s growth has been one of the few bright spots — and with Curry out, Thompson coming off the bench, and Chris Paul happier as a playmaker these days, the stage is set for the 21-year-old to deliver another impressive stat line here.

Kuminga was in attack mode at the weekend on the way to 26 points against this San Antonio Spurs defense, making 10 of his 17 shots, and his aggressive mindset is critical for a Warriors starting line-up that’s heavy on creators and light on scorers.

While Victor Wembanyama’s return tonight will make drives to the basket a bigger risk, I still love the Over on the Kuminga points prop.

He’s naturally going to soak up some of the shots that Curry has vacated — and he even scored 20+ points in four of the five games before Steph’s injury against the Bulls.

Kuminga built good chemistry with CP3 on the Golden State second unit and that should carry over now that both are starting. Draymond Green is another willing passer with the vision to find Kuminga on cuts or lobs.

The Spurs are allowing 120 points per game and I see Kuminga leading the way for a Golden State team that’s played some of its best basketball on the road this season.

My best bet: Jonathan Kuminga Over 21.5 points (-105 at BetMGM)

Warriors vs Spurs same-game parlay

Jonathan Kuminga Over 21.5 points

Spurs +4.5

Draymond Green Over 7.5 rebounds

With Wemby and Vassell both listed as probable, the Spurs should have all the tools to keep this game close — and it’s telling that the line has dropped a few points overnight.

It feels like there’s another upset in the air here. The Warriors are having to figure things out on the fly without Curry, while the hosts have won two in a row at home, including a shock win over the Thunder.

San Antonio shot 51% against Golden State on Saturday and I’ll gladly take the points in this spot.

I’m also expanding my SGP with the Over on the Green rebounding prop. He’s unlikely to will the Warriors to a better outing with his scoring, but he’s still a difference-maker with his defense and playmaking.

I expect Green to be active on the boards tonight after a quieter effort on Saturday. His numbers on the glass have been up and down, but he’s totaled double-digit rebounds in three of his last six contests.

Warriors vs Spurs spread and Over/Under analysis

The Warriors have lost three of their past four games to put a dent in their chances of climbing out of the No. 9 vs. No. 10 play-in matchup, but the visitors are still favorites at Frost Bank Center tonight with a nod to their impressive 16-12 road record.

I’m not convinced though, and I’ve already picked the Spurs as dangerous underdogs here. The hosts are 5-1 ATS in their last six outings and have the offensive firepower to put pressure on a Golden State team missing Curry’s dynamism.

San Antonio took over in the second quarter in Saturday’s battle, running up a 30-16 edge, and never looked back.

Both teams have leaned toward the Under in their past 10 games, but they blew past the total at the weekend and seemed to rediscover their scoring touch late in the week.

The Spurs lost a 131-129 thriller to the Kings on Friday night and continue to be a shaky defensive team despite Wemby’s brilliance at that end of the floor.

Much depends on Thompson’s shooting off the bench for Golden State, but the Over on a line of 227.5 feels within reach.
