My analysis
Anze Kopitar is getting up there in age but you couldn’t tell that by his production this year. The Los Angeles Kings captain leads his team with 35 points in just 31 games in his age-37 season.
Kopitar is shooting over 21% on the season but he primarily picks up his points via the assist with 27 helpers. He’s listed as high as -180 to record a point tonight vs. the Philadelphia Flyers but is just -120 for an assist.
The top-line center has recorded a point in 22 of 31 games this season and an assist in 20 of them. That’s just two games in which Kopitar scored a goal without an assist and both of those games came early on — in the season opener and then on November 4.
Kopitar has recorded an assist in two straight and 13 of his last 16. The Flyers are on the second half of a back-to-back with travel so the Kings should be able to put at least a few goals on the board, further enhancing the captain's odds.
