Thanks for the post TD, and great to see you back again this year. Would love to know what else you're on too, but only if you have time. GL this season |

@undermysac
I read somewhere back in May that whoever owns FO now hadn't paid the writers/contributors in months, and that played a role in Aaron's departure. Apparently no one was doing any more work there til they got paid, which is why there hadn't been updates for ages. With the site now gone completely, that makes sense. None of this is first-hand info, mind you, just stuff I picked up in gossip on the blue bird (now X) site. |

Being 'woke' means adhering to the belief that the most important aspect of a person is their race and/or sexuality, and that human beings can be easily categorized into wholesale 'oppressor' and 'victim' categories with no nuance or regard for personal histories or character. It means believing that every rich black child from an affluent, safe home is always 'worse off' than any white child from a broken home where physical and/or sexual abuse is common -- that the latter's 'white privilege' means they still 'have it better' than the former, no matter the circumstances of their respective lives. It means constantly reframing every aspect of society through the lens of 'white/hetero = inherently bad", 'POC/gay/trans = inherently virtuous and anything they do wrong is the fault of a white person, somewhere" Privilege, oppression, and class warfare all Marxist ideas, and none of you is saying anything more than word-for-word quotes straight from 1950s Soviet textbooks. World War I proved Marx wrong, yet there's still a culture of pseudointellectuals who believe they've got the inside straight on how the world 'really' works, a.k.a 'woke.' Now, however, thanks to the actions of smug, self-satisfied ideologues, 'woke' has also become a pejorative. You may not like that, but that's how language works -- a fact you're usually happy to point to when arguing why someone's subjective desire to be perceived as something they're not is 'language evolving.' Don't presume to talk down on people exercising independent thought. Reframing everyone who disagrees with your pigeon-holing of the world as 'bigots' no longer works. |

@Ilost Your reaction to one day of losing demonstrates you have neither disposable income nor maturity for gambling. Anyone who can react this badly to a 24-hr outing should get as far away from wagering as possible. |

What's the first answer that come to your mind? Are professional sports rigged, scripter?
in NFL Betting Something that just occurred to me reading this thread: point shaving only negatively affects a section of bettors in any one game, not all; for every guy that gets robbed by a ref, an opposite bettor cashes. |

Vegas doesn't 'lose' any night, the outcomes of the games only matter to us - the idea that 'Vegas' needs X or Y to cover on any given night is a myth that book promoters and touts are happy to feed because it drums up more business from non-professionals. Rant aside (lol) good luck on the games tonight |

There's no world in which +2.5 makes sense, game of the year or otherwise. Either buy the hook to +3 to avoid this sort of loss, or sell the hook to +2 to get better odds for the same useless points. Something like 4% of football games end on 1 or 2, the rest are 3+, so it makes no sense to pay the bookmaker's rake on a useless +2.5. Also, trying to fade the imaginary 'public' is no better than flipping coins. Those public money charts are filled with assumptions based on incomplete data, and are not a complete snapshot of the betting market. Cap the teams and compare the market to your own spreads. That's the only way to get an edge. |

Bookmaker.eu is the best/safest option, unless you're in a jurisdiction where you can use Pinnacle. If not, BM is next best thing. |

@Groncovar If any of that was true, you'd never need to sell the info - nor would you want to. So |

No better/worse than any of the other 'Vegas' touts. Same image, business model, etc. |

He's a wannabe monarch who couldn't even get his own insurrection right. Failed on coronavirus; tried to take credit for a vaccine he railed against from the start; lost the election by scaring his base off mail-in ballots when they were all stuck at home. America needs a strong new Republican candidate, an actual patriot, not this Ponzi scheming clown whose entire real estate career is a list of Chapter 11s and stiffed employees. The loser even failed in Atlantic City, a town begging to give your casino its money. |

Sounds more like you selectively tailed and then blamed solid cappers for isolated swings. |
