Super Bowl 59 expert picks & predictions
Pick: Chiefs -1 (-105 at Caesars)
The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to make history by becoming the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls. Jason Logan isn't getting cute with his best bet. He's banking on the dynasty to continue because they may have saved the best for last.
"In order to make history as the first NFL team to win three in a row, Kansas City had to concede that the regular season was not the priority. Sure, the Chiefs played hard and pushed for the top seed, but that wasn’t the goal. The goal was surviving and getting to the postseason with the pieces intact. They’ve done that for the most part."
The Chiefs have survived bouts with the Texans and Bills en route to this rematch of Super Bowl 57 vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, which kicked off the stretch of championships. Ultimately, personnel, recent history, and overall talent give the edge to Kansas City.
"Kansas City will need to clear a high bar to knock off the Eagles, who present a much stiffer defensive challenge than any other foes the Chiefs have taken on this season. But when you have the best coaches and the best quarterback (perhaps of all time?), things tend to work out."

Super Bowl prop pick
Pick: Travis Kelce Over 6.5 receptions (+120 at Caesars)
Rohit Ponnaiya is also backing history and targeting Chiefs TE Travis Kelce to get busy on offense.
"Some football fans were too quick to ship Kelce off to the old folks' home after he began the season with just eight total catches for 69 yards through the first three games.
"However, the Chiefs offense eventually found its footing and Kelce has racked up 7+ catches in eight of his last 15 contests. That includes the Divisional Round of the playoffs when he reeled in seven catches for 117 yards and a score against Houston."
And while the Eagles don't allow a ton of explosive plays, Kelce can be on the receiving end of shorter, more efficient plays as Patrick Mahomes & Co. move the ball down the field in fits and spurts.
"Beyond the analytics, Kelce is simply 'that guy' for a Chiefs offense that doesn't have a true No. 1 wide receiver. When the chips are down and they need a big catch, I do not doubt that Mahomes will be looking to his veteran tight end. After all, in his previous four Super Bowls, Kelce has racked up 31 receptions for 350 yards."
Saquon Barkley prop pick
Pick: Saquon Barkley Under 27.5 first-quarter rushing yards (-115 at Caesars)
Logan is fading Eagles RB Saquon Barkley... at least in the opening frame. And he's saying you shouldn't get lost in his recent output in first quarters.
"Barkley has taken big chunks out of those full-game totals in opening frames. He rushed for 41 yards in the first 15 minutes versus Green Bay, amassed 71 1Q rush yards against the L.A. Rams, and — of course — opened the NFC title game with a 60-yard dinger and finished with 64 total yards on the ground in the first quarter.
"Over three playoff games, Barkley is averaging 55.7 first-quarter rushing yards — a metric blown out of proportion by two runs of 60-plus in those initial frames. And even in the matchup with Green Bay, the Packers pooched the opening kickoff and went three-and-out on their next drive to hand Philly extra touches."
The Chiefs will also pose a bigger problem, and not because they're necessarily a great rush defense.
"Kansas City’s offense will also temper Barkley’s early output. Mahomes & Co. run a very plodding pace and can chew up the first-quarter clock. The Chiefs will have a well-scripted opening drive and with the way this offense can convert third downs (third-best conversion rate) and extend drives, Philadelphia may not see the football much in the first quarter."
A.J. Brown prop pick
Pick: A.J. Brown 100+ receiving yards (+255 at Caesars)
Josh Inglis' milestone props target Eagles WR A.J. Brown to reach the century mark tonight, which is available at significant plus money, likely due to Hurts' passing yards prop being a relatively low 212.5.
"Because of the low passing total from Hurts, that filters down to the receiving markets for the Eagles. Brown, a player who had closing totals of 89.5 yards late in the season before Hurts’ concussion, has a current receiving yard total of 70.5 yards that has been on the rise. Even vs. the Commanders as a near-TD favorite outdoors, this number closed at 69.5 yards."
He's an explosive receiver who can carve out the bulk of this number on just a couple of receptions.
"Brown can put up big yards even with a small target volume. If the Eagles are in catch-up mode, Brown has a serious path to destroy his total. This is the same receiver who just last year had a six-game stretch of 125+ receiving yards. He could also see a ton of single coverage with K.C. wanting to stop Barkley and get double-digit targets. Low or high volume, he has outs for this Alt Over."
Isiah Pacheco prop pick
Pick: Isiah Pacheco Under 30.5 rushing + receiving yards (-115 at Caesars)
Neil Parker is fading Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco entirely tonight as he drifts further into the background in the backfield.
"Pacheco missed nine games with a fractured fibula, and he never regained his go-to role out of the backfield down the stretch. The Eagles also have an elite run-stopping unit, and finished the regular season ranked second in PFF run defense while allowing the second-lowest EPA per rush, and the Eagles also allowed the fourth-lowest yards per carry to opposing running backs."
Super Bowl 59 same-game parlay (SGP)
Chiefs moneyline
Kareem Hunt anytime touchdown
Xavier Worthy 50+ receiving yards
Jalen Hurts 40+ rushing yards
In addition to another Chiefs victory, Logan expects big things from Kareem Hunt and Xavier Worthy in the offense.
"Hunt has scored at least one touchdown in all six of his postseason games and is getting the red-zone carries for Kansas City.
"Worthy can break off a big play at any time and his projections call for 50 or more receiving yards in SBLIX."
Wrapping it up in what seems to be a Chiefs-forward run of bets is for Eagles QB Jalen Hurts to use his legs and run for at least 40 yards, with Logan citing the two weeks off to heal as a major factor for the mobile thrower.
