Argonauts 35, Blue Bombers 19: Ricky Ray threw a pair of touchdown passes, ran for a score and set a CFL record for completion percentage before leaving with a knee injury in Toronto's one-sided win over host Winnipeg.
Ray completed 19-of-20 passes for 286 yards, setting a league mark for the best single-game completion rate - 95 percent (minimum 20 attempts). The 33-year-old, who went down clutching his left knee after completing a 48-yard pass to Andre Durie with 7:20 left in the third quarter, walked off the field on his own power but did not return.
Chad Owens had seven catches for 89 yards and a touchdown for the Argonauts (2-2), who took over sole possession of first place in the East Division.
Chad Simpson ran in a late one-yard score and Justin Palardy booted three field goals for the Blue Bombers (1-3), who dropped their second straight. Starting quarterback Buck Pierce went 10-of-14 for 139 yards and an interception before being replaced at the start of the second half by Justin Goltz, who was 13-of-15 for 170 yards.
Toronto took the lead for good with 6:52 remaining in the opening quarter as Ray found Owens in stride along the left edge of the end zone for a 15-yard TD strike. Ray connected with Spencer Watt for a 30-yard score near the midway point of the second quarter, then ran it in from 18 yards out early in the third to extend the advantage to 28-6.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Pierce started his fourth consecutive game, his longest such streak since 2009. ... Argonauts RB Chad Kackert left in the fourth quarter after taking a helmet to the knee. Kackert, who did not return, finished with nine carries for 22 yards. ... Clarence Denmark was Winnipeg's top receiver, hauling in four passes for 112 yards.
