Lions 43, Eskimos 29: Buck Pierce relieved Thomas DeMarco and threw three touchdown passes while rushing for another score to lift host BC over woeful Edmonton.

DeMarco was pulled after completing only 2-of-6 passes in the first quarter and Pierce was 11-of-14 for 141 yards over the final three for the Lions (10-7), who snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 7-1 at home. Andrew Harris and Emmanuel Arceneaux had two touchdown receptions apiece while Stefan Logan ran for 121 yards and a score on 10 carries.

Mike Reilly was 20-of-34 passing for 321 yards and two touchdowns but also threw two interceptions for the Eskimos (3-14), who dropped their fifth straight contest and fell to 0-9 against West Division opponents. Adarius Bowman caught both scoring passes and finished with 199 yards on six catches.

Reilly tossed a 71-yard touchdown pass to Bowman on the first play from scrimmage to give Edmonton the early advantage. The Eskimos built a 12-1 lead early in the second quarter, but a 54-yard rushing score by Logan and an 8-yard TD pass from Pierce to Harris with 27 seconds remaining in the half tied the score at 15-15.

Pierce connected with Arceneaux on a 43-yard touchdown 1:36 into the second half and Harris made his second TD catch 7:09 later to give BC control of the game. DeMarco re-entered and went 2-of-2 on a drive late in the fourth quarter, capping it with a 3-yard scoring toss to Arceneaux with 2:01 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Edmonton backup QB Jonathan Crompton entered the game and responded to DeMarco’s drive with a quick touchdown drive of his own, but it wasn’t enough to salvage the Eskimos’ effort. … Arceneaux had 92 receiving yards on just three catches. … Lions CB Cord Parks tied Montreal Alouettes CB Geoff Tisdale for the league lead in interceptions with his sixth of the season 1:01 into the fourth quarter. … Harris was helped off the field with an injury in the final minute of the contest.
