Eskimos 35, Blue Bombers 27 (OT): Hugh Charles' 9-yard touchdown run in overtime lifted visiting Edmonton to its second straight win.
After forcing overtime on Hugh O'Neil's 17-yard field goal with 29 seconds remaining - set up by Fred Stamps' 54-yard catch on a tipped third-down pass - the Eskimos dominated the extra session. Charles broke off a 16-yard run to set up his scoring scamper, and the Eskimos defense sacked Winnipeg's Justin Goltz on second down of the ensuing possession to force a third-and-29 the quarterback couldn't convert.
Mike Reilly went 31-of-46 for 418 yards and a touchdown to pace Edmonton (3-9), while Stamps finished with eight catches for 157 yards. Max Hall completed 18-of-27 passes for 253 yards with a TD and two interceptions for the Blue Bombers (2-10), who had just 62 rushing yards in defeat.
Winnipeg struck on its opening drive, as Rory Kohlert hauled in three passes to buoy a 10-play, 78-yard drive that ended with Jason Boltus' 1-yard TD run. The Blue Bombers extended the lead on a 12-yard scoring strike from Hall to Terrence Edwards late in the first quarter, but Edmonton responded in the final minute of the half as Reilly connected with Adarius Bowman on a 12-yard touchdown pass to trim the deficit to 20-11 at the break.
Winnipeg answered on the first play of the second half, as Jovon Johnson recovered a Stamps fumble and scampered 48 yards down the left sideline for a score. Two O'Neil field goals gave Edmonton life, and Reilly was 5-of-5 on a lengthy drive later in the quarter to set up Kerry Joseph's one-yard TD run that made it 27-24 with just under six minutes remaining.
