Stampeders 42, Roughriders 27: Jon Cornish ran for 175 yards and four touchdowns as visiting Calgary held on to beat previously unbeaten Saskatchewan.
Cornish had three first-half TDs and added a one-yard score in the fourth quarter to pace the Stampeders (5-1), who moved into a first-place tie with the Roughriders (5-1) atop the West Division. Kevin Glenn was 21-of-28 for 218 yards and a score while Nik Lewis led the receiving corps with seven catches for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Darian Durant completed 20-of-32 passes for 279 yards and three scores for Saskatchewan, which entered the game having allowed just 87 yards all season. League rushing leader Kory Sheets finished with 133 yards on 14 carries while Chris Getzlaf caught a pair of TD passes in defeat.
After a Saskatchewan turnover gave Calgary the ball deep in Roughriders territory, Cornish opened the scoring on a 14-yard touchdown run less than three minutes into the game. Cornish added a two-yard scoring plunge and a 32-yard TD scamper, and Rene Paredes hit a pair of field goals - his 35th and 36th straight without a miss - as the Stampeders held a 26-7 lead at the half.
Durant's three-yard scoring strike to Getzlaf trimmed the gap near the midway point of the third quarter, and a Chris Milo 13-yard field goal made it a six-point game entering the fourth. Back-to-back sacks of Durant led to a safety that extended Calgary's lead to 28-20, and the Stampeders put away the game on the ensuing drive as Glenn connected with Lewis on a 25-yard TD pass.
