Defensive tackle Bryant Turner had two of eight sacks for the Blue Bombers (2-8), who limited Saskatchewan to 288 yards of offence in a well-rounded defensive effort to halt their seven-game losing skid. Quarterback Darian Durant and running back Kory Sheets combined to run for 158 yards, but Durant was pressured all game and completed just 15-of-33 passes for 129 yards for the Roughriders (8-2), who saw their three-game winning streak come to an end. Defensive tackle Jermaine McElveen had two sacks.

Winnipeg linebacker Pierre-Luc Labbe forced a fumble by Durant with 1:35 remaining in the period and cornerback Demond Washington recovered to set up a 3-yard touchdown run by Goltz.
Goltz hit the ground awkwardly on a rush with 2:11 remaining and was clutching his left leg, but left the field under his own power and returned to the game.
