Argonauts 31, Roughriders 29: An interception by defensive back Alonzo Lawrence set up the go-ahead touchdown by running back Jerious Norwood as visiting Toronto scored 19 fourth-quarter points to hand Saskatchewan its second straight defeat.
Quarterback Zach Collaros found wide receiver John Chiles for the game-tying score and was 18-for-29 passing for 225 yards, adding a rushing touchdown of his own for the Argonauts (7-4), who avenged a 39-28 home loss to the Roughriders in Week 3. Defensive backs Demetrice Morley and Ricardo Colclough also made interceptions.
Quarterback Darian Durant, who entered the contest with just two interceptions, completed 25-of-50 passes for 381 yards and three touchdowns for Saskatchewan (8-3), which lost running back Kory Sheets to a knee injury in the first quarter. Slotback Chris Getzlaf caught two touchdown passes as part of a 133-yard game, while defensive back Weldon Brown had a sack and an interception.
Argonauts kicker Swayze Waters made a 33-yard field goal on the opening play of the fourth quarter and Collaros found Chiles for 15 yards and the subsequent two-point conversion to tie the game with 10:30 remaining. A 45-yard miss by Waters with 53 seconds remaining gave Toronto an eight-point lead on the single and Saskatchewan had a chance to tie when Durant found Getzlaf for a 17-yard score with 14 seconds left, but Durant was swarmed by the Argonauts' defence on the two-point conversion.
Toronto running back Chad Kackert’s return to action was short-lived as he was hit helmet-to-helmet by Saskatchewan safety Tyron Brackenridge with 3:10 remaining in the first half. No penalty was called on the play, which resulted in a fumble that the Roughriders recovered and wide receiver Rob Bagg caught a 47-yard touchdown pass two plays later.
