Roughriders 35, Blue Bombers 30: Anthony Allen rushed for two touchdowns as host Saskatchewan continued its Labour Day dominance of Winnipeg.
Darian Durant was 14-for-26 passing for 204 yards and a touchdown pass to Taj Smith for the Roughriders (7-2), who extended their winning streak to six games. Allen finished with 38 rushing yards and Jerome Messam led the team with 64 yards while Ricky Foley recorded two sacks and forced a fumble.
Drew Willy completed 15-of-23 passes for 171 yards, an interception and a rushing touchdown and Nic Grigsby rushed for 68 yards and one touchdown for the Blue Bombers (6-4), who have not won a Labour Day weekend game in Saskatchewan since 2004. Troy Stoudermire returned a punt for a touchdown.
Saskatchewan took a 21-7 lead on a 3-yard touchdown rush by Allen 6:25 into the third quarter after Foley sacked Willy and forced a fumble to start the possession. Willy responded with an 11-yard touchdown rush on the following drive and Stoudermire returned a punt 64 yards for a touchdown with 2:58 remaining in the quarter to tie the game.
Field goals of 33 and 46 yards by Lirim Hajrullahu gave Winnipeg the lead in the fourth quarter, which held until a 59-yard touchdown pass from Durant to Smith put the Roughriders ahead again with 5:33 remaining. Hajrullahu gave the Blue Bombers a two-point lead with another field goal, but Allen scored on a 15-yard rush with 28 seconds remaining in the contest to give Saskatchewan the victory.
