Stampeders 41, Eskimos 34: Bo Levi Mitchell threw for two touchdowns and rushed for two more as visiting Calgary completed a home-and-home sweep of provincial-rival Edmonton.
Mitchell was 14-for-24 passing for 216 yards, connecting with Simon Charbonneau-Campeau and Marquay McDaniel on scoring strikes for the Stampeders (9-1), who extended their winning streak to five games. Jon Cornish had 99 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries and Shawn Lemon recorded two sacks and forced a key fumble in the third quarter.
Matt Nichols completed 25-of-43 passes for 333 yards and touchdowns to A.J. Guyton, Adarius Bowman and Nate Coehoorn while also rushing for a score for the Eskimos (7-3), who fell to 2-3 against West Division opponents. Tyler Thomas had 217 yards on seven kickoff returns, including a 52-yard return in the third quarter.
Corey Mace recovered a fumble for Calgary after Nichols was stripped by Lemon at the Eskimos' 21-yard line and Michell found McDaniel for an 11-yard score on the following play. Mitchell added a 20-yard rushing touchdown with 4:55 remaining in the third quarter.
Guyton tossed a 32-yard pass to Fred Stamps as part of a trick play on the final play of the third quarter. Edmonton mounted a charge late in the fourth with a 21-yard touchdown pass from Nichols to Bowman and a 2-yard scoring rush by Nichols, but Cornish put the game away with a 10-yard rushing touchdown with 1:33 remaining.
