Roughriders 35, Redblacks 32 (2 OT): Chris Milo kicked a 22-yard field goal in overtime to cap a comeback victory for host Saskatchewan.
Tino Sunseri completed 20-of-32 for 260 yards and touchdowns to Weston Dressler and Will Ford for Saskatchewan (9-3), which won for the eighth time in nine games. Anthony Allen scored a rushing touchdown and Dressler also returned a punt for a touchdown, while the Roughriders recorded six sacks - three by Tearrius George.
Henry Burris was 23-of-38 for 282 yards, throwing two touchdowns to Wallace Miles and one to Jeremiah Johnson and rushing for another for the Redblacks (1-10), who lost for the eighth straight time. Justin Capicciotti recorded his team-leading fifth sack.
Burris tossed an interception on the opening play of overtime, but Milo missed a 37-yard field goal attempt on the resulting possession. Milo made his winning field goal on the next drive and the Redblacks were unable to respond with points to extend the game when Brett Maher’s 24-yard field goal attempt was blocked.
Ottawa led 22-10 at halftime but Sunseri, who recorded 26 passing yards in the first half, found Ford for an 18-yard touchdown 3:16 into the third quarter and connected with Dressler for a 60-yard score on the second play of the fourth quarter. The Redblacks pulled eight points clear on a 24-yard field goal with 1:53 remaining, but Allen capped a penalty-aided drive with a 1-yard touchdown run with 49 seconds left and Dressler caught the two-point conversion to send the contest to overtime.
GAME NOTEBOOK: East Division were 3-1 against West Division opponents this weekend, improving to 7-27 in 2014. … Ottawa scored more touchdowns on offence than it had in its previous four games combined. … Dressler finished with 125 receiving yards on seven catches and 103 return yards on five punts.
