Stampeders 43, Eskimos 18: Bo Levi Mitchell threw four touchdown passes and rushed for another as host Calgary cruised to its second Grey Cup berth in three years.
Mitchell was 14-of-22 for 336 yards, finding Eric Rogers twice as well as Jon Cornish and Marquay McDaniel for touchdowns for the Stampeders (16-3), who defeated Edmonton for the fourth time in 2014. Cornish also scored a rushing touchdown, while Fred Bennett caught an interception.
Mike Reilly completed 20-of-33 for 216 yards while playing hurt, connecting with Adarius Bowman and Paris Jackson for touchdowns for the Eskimos (13-7). Rennie Curran, Alonzo Lawrence and Odell Willis recorded sacks.
Mitchell threw a 46-yard touchdown toss to McDaniel 3:33 into the contest and Calgary pulled away with three scores in the second quarter. Mitchell scored on a 2-yard rush 1:43 into the period, Cornish scored on a 78-yard catch-and-run at 6:10 and Rogers caught a 19-yard TD with 40 seconds remaining in the first half.
Rogers caught his second touchdown pass a 30-yarder - 4:35 into the second half. Reilly pulled Edmonton back into the game with touchdowns to Jackson and Bowman 2:55 apart in the third quarter, but Cornish iced the contest with his second touchdown - a 2-yard rush with 2:18 remaining.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Cornish finished with 120 receiving yards and 54 rushing yards. … Edmonton was flagged 12 times for 112 penalty yards. … Edmonton backup QB Matt Nichols was 9-for-15 for 92 yards replacing Reilly, who was hobbled by a foot injury throughout the contest.
